Just a big misunderstanding

Theodum was settling down after he had communicated via a sending spell with his counterparts in The Empyrian Order. How had this happened - how was it possible that the world had turned on it's head. How had it been possible that his evil enemies in the North were regarded as good and the good and honorable folks of Brighthaven in the South were described as the evil ones.
And all of this because he had written up the battle around Baron's folly in a less then flattering manner.
The Empyrian order had been honorable on the battlefield and he had no bad feelings that they had fought his own forces. After all - it was just Thod who died multiple times - not Theodum himselve. And wasn't that what fighters were good for?
But somehow all of this had developed a life of it's own. Words had flown around, insults followed - and all of this because of a decrepit tower far, far away.
But good that they had talked and Theodum had no ill feelings towards The Empyrian Order. After all they were honorable folks.

I thought I wanted to clear up a few issues as the other thread took on a life of it's own. There were a lot of different strands woven into one big thread and I'm certainly guilty of poking The Empyrian Order and to provocate them.
I don't have any ill feelings that they attacked us yesterday. After all - this is what the game is about. They were absolutely in their right to challenge us for the tower - and to be honest - they were pretty close to take it and I was pretty close to give up and call a retreat.
It was a fair fight - 6 against 6. Well - I later saw at least one AFK from Brighthaven - but we also had one on our side.
I'm new to PvP and I hadn't exprienced the emotional toll it takes before. So when we took it I convinced myself we truely earned it.
When I wrote a message to TEO asking if they cede the tower to us I didn't get a no. But I didn't get a yes either. So I was in a difficult position. Was all for nothing because they would just take it back with even greater force.
So I used the pen instead of the sword - after all - there is more then one way to fight. Maybe the best option would have been to chat - but we are on different time zones and there is something called work that can get in the way.
To cut it short - I felt bullied and I felt I was in the right - TEO felt extorted and felt they were right. We likely were both partly right and partly wrong.
So when I used the thread title 'Judge them by their actions' then you should judge them by their actions that they will do now. It was always meant for the future and they did nothing wrong or dishonorable yesterday.
As a small group I had to try out boundaries and see how far a small group could go. I had to ensure the Emerald Lodge as I envison it has a future. It developed a life of it's own and with hindsight the stakes were a little bit high.
In the end both sides want the same - a good experience and a great game. I will have to spend some time in the near future to rebuild trust that I destroyed and heal emotional wounds that I caused.
For everyone else - I hope you enjoyed the show and that we generated some content for you. Now go out and kill each other and generate content of your own. And if it gets too emotional - talk to the other party.

Thod, you're creating content. My opinion, I think it was diplomatic genius on your part, by the way.

Fun for all!

My work here is done.

Very glad that you have no hard feelings toward The Empyrean Order, Thod. Though I wasn't part of the group the marched on Baron's Folly myself, I heard great things about the warriors of the Emerald Lodge. I fully expect this will be sufficiently resolved by the powers that be, and I only hope that I'll be present if there is another clash.

That is probably how I felt in the beginning.

But I'm not sure if in the end it was more the wizards apprentice who lost control over his own creation.
