Hmmm. A Blasting Wilder sounds fun as a telekinetic who's powered by emotion.
But on the other hand, making a character who could use all the cool future tech stuff would be fun too. I suppose it depends on what the technology level of our original planet was.
It'd be a bit easier to make a character if I was sure of the setting.

For a first time GM, an AP is probably best. A fairly simple, but well written one.
I strongly disagree with this statement. A module is usually best as it's short, sweet, and has a conclusive ending after a few sessions.
It allows a new GM to adjust their next module until they've refined or get a good beat for a long term campaign.
You can still do an AP, it's just from both my own, as well as a few other new GMs i've talked to.

Rynjin |

The problem with modules, IMO, is that they are both less bang for your buck and more of a grab bag of quality than the APs are. The APs are pretty consistently decent to great, and there's a relatively smaller number of them. There's about a bajillion modules, for all different levels, and they run the gamut from complete trash to really good.

Monkeygod, it seems to me that Golarion's space setting has examples of tech, magic, and magitech, so I would be remiss to not include all examples of them.
Another Council of Thieves applicant, huh? Seems a popular choice! I imagine that most people would love a good urban AP though, so it is understandable.

Ok everyone who has posted, I have a bit of an issue that has come up.
Many people I know, with quite a bit of board presence, believe that the Bloody-Handed Justice idea will not receive very many applications, due to there being so many people wanting to PLAY WotW and there not being as many GMs willing to run is.
As such, it seems like that idea may fall through when applications are opened. Thus, I am considering dropping that campaign idea before it even begins, to avoid disappointment.
The question is: what would replace it? Thoughts?
Also, The Void Saga is nearing recruitment phase, so be on the lookout for it folks!

Divinitus |

Nyaa, have you seen the technology guide? It is amazing! In regards to your suggestion, I have some qualms about running WotW. My primary concern is, of course, keeping the party unified without railroading them with a contrived method of compliance. So I may not be interested in doing so.
I am thinking, for the replacement campaign, having a Law vs Chaos campaign, with PCs belonging to one side or the other. Law vs Chaos is a trope seldom explored in RPGs these days, with all the evil outsider frenzy still going on, but is a VERY fun conflict to play out.

Azih |

Man is WoTW popular, a bit confusing to me as I have no interest in playing it personally. I'd suggest running two campaigns and starting a third later myself. If you really want to run a third why not go down the order of your AP and run CoTCT maybe?
You could do a lot of things with Law Vs Chaos. Set it in the Riverlands as a sort of reverse Kingmaker trying to keep the land wild in the face of Brevoy colonisation.... a Wild West with PCs either on the side of the lawless towns or the incoming railroad companies trying to settle the land... something in Galt with anarchist idealogy vs more centralized government philosophy.
Please no PvP though. Not something I enjoy at all.

I would kill to play in a Razor Coast game, and you seem to have the gusto to do the setting justice. That would be my vote.
Or Dark Sun, but I realize that's a wet dream that'll never happen. :)
Edit: Oooh, or an idea I had the other day. A game completely centered around dragons. The PCs would begin battling kobolds and work their way all the way up to elder wyrms. I guess kind of like a pathfinder version of the new 5e adventure path (the name is escaping me at the moment). I have yet to encounter any dragons in pathfinder and I think it would be a cool classic theme to riff on.

Sixteenbiticon |

Please don't toy with my emotions like that sir, for it is awful cruel!
Edit: For an absolutely stunning rendition of Dark Sun using PFRPG rules, please see this thread.

DARK SUN CAMPAIGN SETTING IT IS!!!
Here are some free, fan-made books about Athas and the Dark Sun setting. Pick up the Dark Sun 3 book for setting info and some rules, Athasian Emportium to familiarize yourself with some of the equipment, the Life Shaping Handbook if you are interested in doing biomancy-like life-shaping, and both Prestige Class Appendix volumes to look at some of the Prestige Classes which, if you make enough of a case for, I may homebrew into an archetype for you to begin the game with! We MAY go into mythic VERY late into the game and, if we do, then picking up Legends of Athas would be a good idea. Also, the link that Sixteenbiticon placed is excellent. I am unsure of which I will utilize when all is said and done, given that I may do my own conversions, but it looks great so far. Here is a nice run-down of Athas, though there ARE divine casters that worship ideals, nature, or the Dragon Kings (And/or Queens!).
Sixteenbiticon, I have you to thank for reviving my interest with regards to Dark Sun! It's been so many years that I had almost forgot about it. Now just to sort through the books and such, so I can get a recruitment thread up. :)
I will be houseruling a 'Mana Point' system that makes it easier to keep track of spells cast and such, just like psionics has the Power Point system. It will be relatively simple and would allow for magic users to feel more 'magical', especially given the Defiler Magic that people can utilize and the fact that magic is pretty rare on Athas. After all, if you are one of the few people who can still cast arcane magic, do you think your magic is going to follow Vancian traditions? I think not!
EDIT: Spontaneous casters get much deeper mana pools, while prepared casters keep their versatility. Balance of spontaneous and prepared casting with this system will make more sense when the system is up for your perusal!

Rynjin |

Ah, I see. I clicked on one and it had a link to an Amazon page so I didn't bother to look any further.
So, Psionics fits in well here, it seems. Would we be using Dreamscarred's Psionics, or some alternative?
I'll take the time to look over the stuff tomorrow. Beddy-bye time now. Looking forward to it. =)

Nyaa, have you seen the technology guide? It is amazing!
It's not? I mean if the government gives me few of these toys for a dangerous exploration mission I won't mind, but buying them with my own WBL is simply not viable. Weapons are still outdamaged by a bow or any 2H stick in the hands of a barbarian.
I'm very interested in reading campaign setting you have in mind for that game though.I will be houseruling a 'Mana Point' system
May I see numbers and suggest http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?194002-3-5-A-Translation-of-V ancian-Spellcasting-to-Psionic-Mechanics ? UA mana point wizard is like STP Erudite on steroids.

That is excellent Frogfoot! Based on what I have seen on the boards with people talking about you, I'm sure that you would be a great addition to the party. My apologies for not running Bloody-Handed Justice, but I was advised against it, given that like 90% of the messageboards pretty much want to play the campaign that it contains massive spoilers for. I obviously want a robust recruitment, so I decided against it. I am glad you found an alternate setting to your liking!
EDIT: Nyaa, I apologize for looking over your post momentarily. The system used on the link is similar to mine, but not precisely. You will see after it is posted. It just makes more sense in a setting with Defiler Magic and such to go ahead and utilize a Mana Point system. I also dislike Vancian systems in general, because it feels more 'magical programmer with mystic subroutines' rather than a true wielder of the most powerful force in the universe.

Rynjin |

'magical programmer with mystic subroutines' rather than a true wielder of the most powerful force in the universe.
Trust me, Vancian magic isn't NEARLY as interesting as this idea.
That was the magic that the main character of the book series The Wiz came up with (he was a computer programmer dropped into a magic world).
It was definitely wielding the most powerful force in the universe, just in an odd way. =)
Good series, you should check it out.

Jimibones83, thus far Dark Sun and a space campaign are options! I have already opened a CoT recruitment, since it requires much less work prepping. The others will probably follow within a week.
I always wanted to check out dark sun, never got to. Sounds awesome. I've also wanted to get into a space campaign for quite some time, but not as bad as a dark sun game.
