Does "Protection from Technology" effect androids?

Rules Questions

See above.

Are Androids a technological item or a creature with the robot subtype?
That is all Protection from Technology protects against.

What is the game definition of a technological object? I assume it excludes things like ordinary swords and arrows?

Any piece of equipment derived from Androffan technology.

Hobgoblin, do you have any rules text from the books on what defines an android?

Mairn has already told us about the spell, but it'd help us to help you if you could quote the wording from that as well (I'm assuming it's a spell?).

An android is a specific character race. It isn't an item or a robot. It isn't even a construct; it's a biological organism made of flesh infused with nanites.

Quote:
Constructed (2 RP): For the purposes of effects targeting creatures by type (such as a ranger's favored enemy and bane weapons), androids count as both humanoids and constructs. Androids gain a +4 racial bonus on all saving throws against mind-affecting effects, paralysis, poison, and stun effects, are not subject to fatigue or exhaustion, and are immune to disease and sleep effects. Androids can never gain morale bonuses, and are immune to fear effects and all emotion-based effects.

So, they're both constructs AND humanoid. But the fact remains: are they "technology?" Here's the spell:

Quote:
This spell wards a creature from attacks by technological objects and creatures of the robot subtype, and protects against mental control from technological sources. It creates a magical barrier around the subject at a distance of 1 foot. The barrier moves with the subject and has two major effects.

"This spell wards a creature from attacks by technological objects and creatures of the robot subtype"

Are they "technological objects"? No, they are creatures.
Are they "creatures of the robot subtype"? No.

So there is your answer.

But do they know what it means to love? ;)

Shadow Lodge

Do they dream of electric sheep?
