Civil war has the bones of a good story.
It would expect it to be on a much smaller scale since so many of the players have yet to be introduced and you can't reasonably pack that many people in one movie.
I was hoping they would have some Netflix casting news about Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones.

I'm guessing I could warm up to Civil War if they pack EVERYONE in the MCU into that movie. Iron Man, Cap, Thor, Hulk, Guardians of the Galaxy, Agents of SHIELD! Luke Cage! Daredevil! The Howling Commandos in time travel mode! EVERYONE! :)
(some of the above listed characters will probably not be introduced by then though)
A giant brawl with scenes with dozens of different actors, a feast for the eyes fit for the shortest attention span possible. While the plot would err the way of suckage, it would be cool to see all these A-list actors elbow each other for the spotlight... I hope they will accept a smaller paycheque due to limited screen time, otherwise the budget for this will be gigantic.

From what I understand from what was said by Kevin Feige yesterday is that Civil War will be less about Secret Identities and registration than about to whom super powered people are held accountable by. or is it to?

The Avengers, or at least some of them, breaking their ties with SHIELD? Possibly because of SHIELD's policies towards some of the other heroes?

Yeah...still bitter about them negating 30 years of comics....

No, no... I AGREE.
I've said it before...
. . . I love Spider-Man. And that in itself is like being in an abusive relationship. He always makes the same stupid mistakes and never really changes. I suppose that's just a problem with comics in general, but it just felt even worse on Peter for some reason. . . . It's why I eventually quit reading Spider-Man comics, but I'd still go back every now and then to see what's going on. . . .
What little character advances they managed over many years got hand waved away with that little piece of writing. It was the worst sort of retcon.

I'm sure season 2 of Agents of Shield will dovetail into Avengers 2. By then maybe it's back on the radar as a good guy organization and all of the avengers have pretty good ties with Agent Coulson, so they might be back in Shield by the time Cap 3 comes out.
Thing is I think that the Avengers were leery of SHIELD even at the end of the first AVENGERS movie. Especially after discovering that they were using the tesseract energy to replicate and stockpile Hydra energy based weapons (as seen in the first Captain America movie).
Which is why I was a little surprised to see that Cap was working for them at the beginning of the Winter Soldier and that Stark had basically built them repulsor based propulsion systems for the 3 Insight helicarriers. I do think that showing Steve's aggravation and distrust of Fury's methods at the beginning of Winter Soldier was neccesary to maintain some sort of continuity with Steve's distrust of Fury and by extension SHIELD. It's also important so that when Cap makes his pitch to completely dismantle SHIELD it's consistent with how he's been feeling since middle of the Avengers.
Agents of Shield should be concluding the second season in the middle of May. AGE OF ULTRON opens that first or second week of May in the US. I wouldnt be surprised if Agents of Shield ends on a cliffhanger leading into Age of Ultron or much like last year with Winter Soldier Age of Ultron happens between one or two episodes of AOS and prompts another huge shift in the tone of the show.
I'm also wondering when Tony, Steve, Thor and Natasha find out that Coulson is alive. With all of the things on the show centering around the blue alien and the alien writing I wouldnt be surprised if it leads into the Inhumans movie that's coming out in a few years.
Are there ALREADY Inhumans walking around the Marvel TV universe that we're just not aware of yet? Probably...

My biggest problem with Captain America: Civil War is that it's kind of cheating Cap out of a movie.
This is my issue, too. Winter Soldier is my favorite Marvel movie so far, and First Avenger is up there, too, so I'm certainly biased, but I just think having a Captain America movie (or Thor, or Iron Man, or whomever) and making it something like Civil War- which is essentially a big crossover event- shortchanges our lead character. Particularly when you've got someone like RDJ in it. While I love what he's done with Iron Man, he is kind of a scenery chewer in the role, and with what they're paying him, I don't expect that his role will be anything short of an equal time role in the movie.
So it's not really a "Captain America" movie any longer, which is a shame. I'd rather Civil War be its own thing, and have another Captain America movie. There are so many storylines that remain to be done with Cap, both from the comics, as well as just from what's been done on-screen so far (need more Falcon, plus we still have the lingering Winter Soldier question, not to mention how Cap reacts to the fall of SHIELD- which I suppose will be a big part of Avengers' setup.)

Even "Infinity War" is going to be an "Avengers" movie. I think the brass at Marvel think you need to tie a movie to a character or group of characters in the title. While the comic-reading world is more than happy to pick up a mini-series titled "Civil War" or "Marvels" or whatever, they probably aren't sure that all movie goers (of which us comic-book readers are only a subset) will go for it.

I kind of took it as Cap working with them instead of for them. For all his idealism, Cap seems pragmatic enough to know he can accomplish more with S.H.I.E.L.D. as his allies (and stay more up-to-date on threat intelligence) than on his own. He probably didn't think highly of Stalin's politics & policies either, but he would've recognized the necessity of having him and Russia as Allies against the bigger threats in WWII.
...and that Stark had basically built them repulsor based propulsion systems for the 3 Insight helicarriers.
I was more surprised S.H.I.E.L.D. would have trusted Stark than the other way around, especially after that hacking stunt on the first Helicarrier. But I wouldn't rule out pre-Hydra-implosion S.H.I.E.L.D. and Stark both being arrogant enough to think they can out-plan and out-maneuver the other.

I am wondering if The Winter Soldier will play into WHY Stark and Cap are going against each other. Tony would be all about destroying/capturing any present and former Hydra assets, especially Hydra assets that might have been involved with killing his parents. Cap in contrast wants to help and redeem Bucky. I would be pretty shocked if this wasn't the core root of their disagreement, and would also follow on from Cap 2 in a logical fashion.

Excellent points. Especially the second.
