Does a level 4 blood rager qualify for Dragon Disciple?

Scarab Sages

Thanks. Does he have to be draconic bloodline or not?

Sczarni

No. You must be 5th level first. Yes, you must have the Draconic Bloodline.

Also, flagged for removal to the Rules Forum.

Dragon Disciple Prestige Class requirements:

  • Race: Any nondragon.
  • Skills: Knowledge (arcana) 5 ranks.
  • Languages: Draconic.
  • Spellcasting: Ability to cast 1st-level arcane spells without preparation. If the character has sorcerer levels, he must have the draconic bloodline. If the character gains levels of sorcerer after taking this class, he must take the draconic bloodline.

You can not meet the Skills requirement before 5th level, so no, a Bloodrager 4 does not qualify.

The general interpretation of the bloodline requirement is that yes, you need to have a draconic bloodline as a Bloodrager in order to qualify for the Dragon Disciple class.

Scarab Sages

According to the current rules, DD grants you only redundant weaker abilities with the "blood of dragons" DD class feature. Until errata, if any comes out to change the RAW of "sorcerer" to "sorcerer or bloodrager" in the blood of dragons class feature, this will dramatically weaken your bloodline powers.

Sczarni

It does however allow you to use bloodline powers outside of bloodrage. For example you would gain rounds of claw use outside of bloodrage and energy resistance as well. While not as powerful it does create some interesting role play aspects.

As-is, you wouldn't have to have the Draconic bloodline to enter, but upon taking your first level you would be forced to retrain the bloodline, since the ACG states you can't have two different bloodlines at the same time.

No you'd have to be at least 6th level since you need 5 ranks in a skill as per RAW no you don't have to be a Draconic Bloodrager unless you also take Sorcerer levels which at that time must be Draconic and your Bloodrager bloodline must match.

You must be 6th level, but you only need one level of bloodrager. You must be draconic bloodline. As it stands right now its a pretty terrible combo. I hope they change it in the new book, but right now your basically getting quite a few abilities twice that won't stack.

bloodrager doesn't get spellcasting until 4th, so they don't meet that requirement with a single level.

Sovereign Court

If you wanted to dip, you could take a level of Magus with the Eldritch Scion archetype and the Draconic bloodline instead.
