Please do more words of power, they are awesome! I'd really like to see more words. The framework is there it just needs more effect and meta words.

Heck yeah I would love more of this system. Deep magic added a couple of nice ones and I found another 3rd party one with some Necromancy words but I think the system still has a lot of room to expand on.

I agree with this thread.

We are looking at some expansion on the system in the manuscript for the upcoming Southlands kickstarter from Kobold Press.

Any chance of that expansion offering some new words to cover some of the spells outside of the Core (APG, ACG, UM)?

Liberty's Edge

As others have pointed out Deep Magic has more on words of power - an entire section if I'm not mistaken ...

Which is good, because answers to my posts to Paizo have, in the past, been answered with "not very likely at all."

Personally I feel liek th WoP was a MUCH BETTER system for spell casting than the base casters... (especially since there is less issues with certain, rediculously powerful but narrow spells breakign the game)

Liberty's Edge

Well then y'all will *definitely* want to check out Deep Magic! :)

We've had the same issues with certain Word combinations as well, your point? It's possible and has been demonstrated how to make word power combinations which mimic powerful spells without the restrictions built into the original versions.

I'm a big fan of noun/verb magic systems in general but they work where magic is much more constrained than D20/Pathfinder, Ars Magica or GURPS being a good example, The other thing that makes them work is that they are based on skill rolls and heavy resource expenditure instead of auto-success casting.

The Word of Power system is broken in this context without a handy method to fix it. I respect Paizo for the experiment, but consider it an unredeemable failure.

@LazarX

They are not nearly as broken as teh rediculousness that is things like the SNow-Cone Wish Factory...
