Is this card missing some once-per-turn language? Relevant part of the power:
"Reveal this card on your turn and choose a category:boon or bane. Then examine the top card of your location deck. If that card matches your choice, encounter it."
Can't you just reveal it, see what the card is, reveal again knowing which category to choose, and repeat until you've cleared a deck? Assuming that you can handle all of the relevant checks to defeat?

I just spotted this card, and came to see if there was any discussion. I'm interested to see how this one gets ruled. If it's just once per turn, it's really not as good as the Eagle. Perhaps if you had to recharge a card each time you use it?

How does the Fortune-Teller post-Bard CD/WotR work?
Since it is only usable at the end of your move step, doesn't the potential exploration it can generate conflict with the "Free initial exploration" which must be taken first?
My understanding is that any bonus exploration gained while you haven't taken your current one is lost, i.e. you can't accumulate extra explorations.
Is this an exception to the "...must be your first exploration for the turn. You may NEVER explore outside of your explore step" rule?

It doesn't generate an exploration, it just makes you encounter the top card of the deck if it matches. Encountering a card is not the same as exploring, so after that encounter is over you still have your free explore to utilize.

But, doesn't Detect Magic have the same language on it (encounter the card, vs. explore)? And I thought it was ruled that that took the place of your free explore, if you played it before your explore phase.

No,Detect Magic never had that ruling.

In fact, the RotR rulebook uses it as an example to demonstrate you can use it when you aren't in your explore step.
If It Isn’t Called Something, It Isn’t That Thing. Detect Magic doesn’t use the word “explore,” so you can play it at times when you can’t explore. Don’t make assumptions—just read the card.
That was added in this FAQ.
