Southern Indiana Pathfinder Society Request for Help

Pathfinder Society

Liberty's Edge

Hey guys! I'm just posting here request information on how to go about starting my own Pathfinder Society campaigns. As is I have a group I play with regularly, and I also run as the President of the Gamers Society club at Indiana University Southeast. I have a weekly game night and more and more people ask me about wanting to play Pathfinder. I see this as a prime opportunity to open up a local Pathfinder Society chapter where people in the local area can gather to add to the Golarion campaign story. If I could get a list of to-do lists and rules compiled so that I could make this done easy, that would be fantastic. I want to make sure I follow all the rules and regulations required for legal play, so I figured posting here in the forums would be the quickest and easiest way to get everything I need to know.

First things first, grab a copy of the guide to society play, this has all the rules you need to running/playing a PFS game.

The only other thing you need is a PFS scenario or module to run.

For first games there are a few that I can recommend to get started for both players and GM's:

We Be Goblin's and we be goblins Too!
#1 Silent Tide (season 0)
#3-01 Frost Fur Captives
#5-09 The Conformation

One you have that in hand just create an event (under your account) here on the paizo site, this will give you an even number to report your games under, and the option to download session sheets (to get players PFS numbers for reporting) and generate up to 10 PFS numbers to hand out to new players.

Once you finish the game just jump in to your event and report the session with the players PFS numbers and how much prestige they got and your just about done.

Here is the link to download the newest Guide to Organized Play. It contains most of the rules required for Society play.

Next, be sure to bookmark the Additional Resources page. It tells you what is and isn't legal material from sourcebooks outside of the Core Rulebook.

Once you have a good grasp on the Guide, and feel comfortable referencing the Additional Resources, you'll be a welcome beacon of knowledge that other players can come to for questions.

Now get to work on that community!! =D

Copy me on that email, illumina3. I'm the closet VL and have talked to the owner of Empire Comics about starting a regular game. I'd be happy to drive over and run something for your group and give you materials and information to help you get started.

Welcome to PFS Indiana! Our VO's are awesome (and frankly, so are the many others who help out regularly without titles). You're in good hands. Send the above two people an email and you'll be golden. Again, welcome!
