Nope, never played Tomb Raider. I've played females in more hack and slash like the DnD side scrollers and Dynasty Warriors game, but not in RPGs. It's not a role I wanted to play.
I do love the female companions interacting with them in NWN2 and the KotOR and other Bioware games. When it comes to heavy roleplay, I want to relate to my character better.
Same reason I play humans more often than not.

Kotaku is positively gushing over Obsidian's new CRPG, the Kickstarter-backed Pillars of Eternity.
I share the wish of many others that the Obsidian/Paizo deal might lead to a single-player CRPG based in the Pathfinder ruleset sometime in the future. But I wonder... does this bode good or ill for my fantasy? It shows that Obsidian has the development chops, but it seems like they're putting a lot of effort into developing their own rules and campaign setting. Hmm...
Also, I like how the upcoming D&D CRPG is made with the intent of empowering DMs to make their own adventures.

Too me, it sounds like they have an engine perfectly suited for making a pathfinder game. They can even just modify the ruleset(which feels very much based on 3.5, to no one surprise), since apparently even with the OGL making a pc game using the 3.5 system is kinda legally iffy.

Kinda what I was hoping for. Take the Pillars engine and run with it.

Here is the thread about that game. (Also started by me! Heh.)

I tend to keep tabs on Obsidian's jobs page. They've posted a number of new positions they are hiring for in the last 48 hours, some of which specifically mention a new roleplaying game. This doesn't mean anything definitive - they just released Pillars to universal acclaim, so they may simply be gearing up for a sequel, or a different project altogether.

Fingers crossed for a Pathfinder game.

I know it's information from 2014, but I'd just like to point this out.
This is from the last thread. Lisa Stevens, responding to a poster who was clamoring for more than just a PACG app:
Imbicatus wrote:I'm just hoping there will be more than just the card game app. There will be a CRPG. Just no details to announce right now. Our deal with Obsidian is a long term partnership. I expect there will be many games over the coming years. The card game app was easier for them to get up running fast. There will even be a demo at our booth at GenCon. But there are other plans that will be revealed in time.
Super excited that this is finally public! Looking forward to working with Obsidian on a bunch of awesome Pathfinder games!
Lisa
In case you missed it:
There will be a CRPG.
There.
Will.
Be.
A.
CRPG.
I actually missed this back in the day, but GORUM'S IRON BALLS, MAN, we're probably getting a Pathfiner equivalent to NWN / ToEE! Don't get me wrong - I want the PACG app. I want it bad... the worst thing about the PACG is the ridiculous setup time (all the location building, all the shuffling). An app would mean you could jump right into a scenario, and that's going to be awesome.
But if I could boot up a retooled Temple of Elemental Evil and play an alchemist or an inquisitor or an oracle?
I would pay upwards of $70.00 and/or one or more toes and/or pinky fingers for such a game. Especially if it features local and/or internet-based co-op multiplayer.

Based on this February article, there's discussion underway about a Pathfinder CRPG.
