Can you place metamagicked spells in Spell-Storing Armor?

The armor typically limits you to a 3rd-level spell. My question is, can you store, say, a Maximized Vampiric Touch in it?

Metamagic typically raises the spell slot but not the spell level (barring Heightened, which is irrelevant to this question). Is that suffiicent?

If so, what are some neat options this opens up? Persistent Bestow Curse?

To be honest, if that were the case, you could create Maximized Empowered Intensified Fireball wands, and that's hardly the intent of having restrictions like that. Not even if you had Spell Perfection could you pull off something like that.

While CL isn't a limiting factor (there is debate on this part, actually), spell level is, and applying Metamagics adjusts the spell level by a set amount.

That being said, you could still get away with something like an Empowered Shocking Grasp being put into the armor, since that still constitutes being a 3rd level spell.

It still takes a Standard Action to put the spell into the armor, and a Swift Action to activate the armor (which is a misnomer for its intended purpose; it should be an Immediate Action instead).

There was an FAQ stating that you use the less advantageous spell level for things like this. You could put an empowered cure light wounds in it, for example, or a silent cure moderate, but not a empowered cure serious wounds.

Sadly, I can't find said FAQ.

Found it.

Well, that's a bummer. Also, probably fair.

As long as the spell level isn't above 3rd your good. This includes weapon enchant as well.

Metamagic feats increase the spell level of a spell.

If you were to intensify a level 3 spell it becomes a level 4 spell, thereby it no longer qualifies to be used with Spell Storing.

Any concept [feats, traits, items, class abilities, .etc.] that lowers the metamagic cost (E.G. Magical Knack) can keep a level 3 spell in range.
If you intensify a level 3 spell it normally becomes a level 4 spell, however, if you have magical knack for the spell you are intensifying then the spell remains a level 3 spell and therefore is still usable with Spell Storing.

Magical knack has no effect on a spell when used with spell storing... for the most part when metamagic interacts with items ignore anything that reduces the level of the Metamagic spell.

Magical Knack, the trait, actually increases your Caster Level by 2, as long as the Caster Level increase isn't higher than your current hit dice. I think everybody means Magical Lineage...

This a house rule or an actual ruling with a source? Because if it had a source we could see it and let that be the end all to the discussion.
