Heh, I've only played original Diablo.
It was fun, but my wizards kept dying. Period. :(
I tended to start with an archer and just boost up magic like a wiz.I never got very far in that game. But it was more of a time waster for me. :)
I've played and loved all three. Same here, though - it's mostly just a time waster.

M. Night Shamalamadingdong's next movie will be the sequel to Unbreakable and Split. The article I saw said it will be called Glass, and have Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, and the two leads from Split (James McAvoy and that young chick).
January of 2019. Just under two years from now.
Should be cool.

In other, other news, I accept this as the whims of fate. Also, if I had known what I now know before making the big move down to Texas, I'd have done it anyway.
It was never really for me. It was specifically to get my children out of the cesspool that is Philadelphia, and more generally out of the northeastern United States.

In happier news, my Hardcore Barbarian in Diablo 3 has started to kick ass. So much so, I've upgraded him to Torment I difficulty level. I play him in bounties, so I can build up resources, gems, and gold which my other Hardcore characters can then make use of.
So far, my only other Hardcore character is a wizard who keeps dying. I name each one Manshoon. I think I'm on the third one.
For those not in the know, "Hardcore" characters have only one life to live. If they die, they are lost completely.

I've found the key to kicking ass in Diablo 3 is to acquire a set of magic items. Most of them seem to be keyed to a specific class, but there are some neutral ones.
For my barbarian, I found one that makes him basically like the Tasmanian Devil from Looney Toons. There is a power named Call of the Ancients, which calls up three powerful barbarian ancestors to fight with you. Normally, they only last a little while. The set I started gathering allows them to remain until they die (which seems to be never), as long as you have two items of the set. While they are present, the Barbarian's Fury (which powers many abilities) seems to stop degenerating (or at least does so VERY slowly). Since Whirlwind needs Fury to work, having them active means I can pretty much be a swirling engine of death almost non-stop.

I don't know why, but I seem to be of the type that can play a game like Diablo (whichever number) over and over again, almost never getting tired of it.
In fact, in the last 20 years or so, the games I've played the most hours of have been the Diablo trilogy and two the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic games.

The wife and I attended the Tom Petty concert last night. This is part of his 40th Anniversary tour. It was an excellent show. We had pit seats, so for once we didn't need the giant screens to get a really good view of Petty and his band. Most of the songs they played were well known to me.
Joe Walsh was the opening act. In between songs he would talk, sounding like he had been drinking heavily.

That being said, I was pissed by the time we got their, because the area is piss-poor for this kind of venue. It's a location called The Woodlands. Lots of trees around, hiding all the buildings. And the Pavilion (where the concert took place), is right near a major shopping mall, several other, smaller shopping complexes, and at least one grocery store. So Saturday evenings around that place are....crowded, to say the least.
Once we got there, it took us twice as long as the drive to, just to circle around and find a place to park. Later, after the concert, we had a bit of trouble finding our car again. So, I told the wife that's the last time I want to go there for a concert, even though it is closer.

Still, it was fun.
And the Pavilion, depsite it's facet as a logistical nightmare, is the best place for a concert. It's an open-air ampitheater, with the stage and a large portion of seating covered by a massive, tent-like roof (complete with giant fans). Beyond the roofed over area there are grassy inclines for more people to sit/stand on.

I have...things....planned for today. A morning constitutional. A visit to the comic book store. Maybe some other things.
Tomorrow, I am very much considering giving the gift of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 to myself (there's a 0930 showing nearby). Followed by the gift of boiled crawfish for lunch at Tailgators.

It was a good Friday. A good Me Day. Got things kicking with some coffee and Diablo 3. Then it was time for Guardians of the Galaxy. Then boiled crawfish for lunch. Some more Diablo 3 at home. For family movie night, I got to pick the movie - Kung Fu Panda 2. Plus, I got my gifts - a six-pack of Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA and a new Batman bottle opener. Once the kids were in bed, the wife and I finally watched the most recent episode of NCIS. Then it was some beer and a more Diablo 3 to finish off the day.
