I asked my son the other day what he liked about Pathfinder the most. He's 10 so I figured the combat or dungeon exploring or something like that. He told me he likes it all. The role-playing, exploring places, meeting npc's, creating new characters, exploring character concepts (I'm paraphrasing). I really didn't expect that much of a response from him. It made me happy that I can share something with him that we can enjoy for years, even as my health fails overall.
What stories does everyone have when playing with kids (any age)? What makes introducing the hobby to younger ones fun and rewarding?

You'll find several such stories, including some I wrote about my own kids, in the following thread:
New Taldor Recruit (originally titled "You cannot resist those apple-cheeked cherubs")
Eventually, I started a thread on the subject: My 6-year-old played Pathfinder

I liked your posts. Great reads. My son is trying to get some friends together for a regular gaming group so we can play Rise of the Runelords. It's a lot of work for me to GM and play 3 NPC's to round out his party. Although we're experimenting with animal companions as melee characters to help in that regard. It's priceless when he rolls a natural 1 on a stealth check and looks at me, eyes saying, "what are you going to do to me?"

You know, I'm surprised this thread hasn't gotten more responses. I've read stories on the subject before on these boards. There was this one, and I'll never forget this one, which I have quoted many times.
Then there's this thread.

I am too. Perhaps just timing. Who knows. Recently my son's character Rither got the nickname among his party of "Unlucky One." It seemed that, for two sessions straight, whenever he did a stealth or perception check, he rolled less than 5. Nobody would let him sneak up on anything, even though he had the best stealth mod in the party. It was kind of funny.
