I've been thinking about it, changing it , changing it again. I am ready to go and will adjust tings numbers today.
I do have a question about needed gear. Is this a warm or cold location? Are we going to need any form of transportation or money for transportation, such as a horse or wagon? Is there anything you feel we need for the module?
Ting is buying darkleaf lamellar armor and the "exotic masterwork bastard sword" he found in the crypt, so I'm working money down to little left.
the easy answer: I will be ready to go when the party is, and again Baerlie, Thanks!

Standard Pregen |

Well, the module is set in "the small town of Belhaim... a sleepy rural community just off the beaten path" in northern Taldor, so think England in terms of climate :-)
As to appropriate equipment, buy whatever you want - modules have a habit of providing you with the right tools to do the job at hand, so don't sweat about it too much.

You are welcome :)
Yes, as far as I read the module (not finished at the moment) it's not extremely hot or cold. And this module is a bit different from TGH, you return to Belhaim between the quests as far as I found out. And it's about tripple in length I think.
It's the first time I'm running a module of this style so bear with me. You start with your level 2 clones of your PFS characters and we play the medium advancement track, which means you already have 2000 XP at the start of the module. I think this should work out.
I'm going to prepare the maps and quests and finish reading the module in the next days so we can start as soon as possible :)

OK, think I have done what is necessary to level... still working on sorting equipment and gold, but think the leveling process worked (used the number found in the PFS pdf guide... 5 HP for level, 1 for favored class.

I was looking at the PFS forms and they listed items purchased and items sold. So the items that ting had at first level that he is not using ie. kikko armor, buckler, hanbo etc. can he sell for half price and put that money back in his pocket?

Feli2 |

During first level you have a freeby. You can sell all at full prize back.
And please do not hesitate to buy wands. Maybe an enlarge wand for hans, an reduce person for ting etc....

![]() |

OK, I tweaked a few numbers, I have 150 gp someone can use for wands if needed, I realize it isn't much but I spent a lot on darkleaf armor, I like that 0 armor check penalty :-)

Feli2 |

I meant more using prestige points for wands. And buying the wand and give it to me so that I can use it. Just check the bards spelllist. Better wands I do not have to umd

![]() |

ok, I'm going to have to study up on prestige points, I'll read up and get what I can, is healing better or enlarge?
edit: if I read this right, I can spend two prestige points to buy a 750 gp item, like a first level wand for bards. so how do I go about buying a wand of cure light wounds, is just informing GM Baerlie enough?
@GM Baerlie I Would like to use two prestige points to buy a wand of cure light wounds. Mua Ha Ha

Helikon |

You can take one healing, I just saw enlarge is not on my spell list. You buy it, and I will use it to heal you. I will keep track on it and inform you at the end of the adventure how many charges remain.
@Hans.
Do you know a decent Bard archetype. I seek the supporter build, so inspire courage would be great. Also, as we lack Knowledges I prefer to keep loremaster. And it should work with the fluff. Was thinking about lotus geisha

As I said earlier, still sorting out what to spend my fortune on... thinking maybe bracers of armor or whatnot... but not going to use PP prior... or boons during (treating as an independant snapshot of my lvl 2 pathfinder character, not my actual lvl 2 pathfinder character... so I think that using my boons would be kind of cheating... not saying it is, just that I feel like it would be) but will be using my sheets for exotic equipment purchases prior.
I am tempted to drop escape artist for something more usable (like climb or another knowledge) prior to fully "officially" advancing. Anyone find that Escape Artist becomes more usable later on?
Might be a bit delayed, work really has picked up a bit the last few days, but hoping to have everything finalized by either tonight my time (8-9 hours or so) and be ready to begin.
One final question, are we grabbing a 5th for this or are we good as we are? If not, probably will invest in potions of cure wounds if allowed.

I think you are good as you are. The module is created for four players and with Hans you are already 5.
Take your time, Alex!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but...
First: if we don't use the official PFS rules, but play with our own GM rules and character clones means, that everything you buy during this module with GP you collected in this module is gone after the game. If you buy gear with GP from your official character's account it stays with your character after the game. What happens to wand charges for example, if you buy a wand for PP and use it in this module, are the charges restored after the game, because we did not play an official PFS game with official PFS characters, only "for PFS credit"?
Second: If this is not an official PFS game can you still rework your character after this game before applying the first chronicle of this module, because you did not officially play your first level 2 game?

Hans Olafsson |

Alright, technically, since we are playing in campaign mode, anything we do in this module has no effect on our PFS characters - so any gold we spend, for example, does not track back, and we could change our PCs however we wished.
With regard to spending prestige points, if we 'spent' them, they would come back (since they technically have not officially been spent), but since this is a home game, our GM would be perfectly within her rights to say that we *can't* use prestige to make purchases (since she could say that for the purposes of the game, prestige does not exist).

If Hans counts as two I think ting only counts as 3/4 so were at 4 3/4 right?
if you cannot tell by my superfluous comments I have extra time on my hands. So, whichever way we are running it (I think I understand the differences, thank you by the way) if we need someone to track items/gold I can do that pretty easily on a spread sheet which I could post to tings description, so we could all see what was in the kitty.
Then we could divide it up at a convenient time, hopefully with someone that has a higher charisma than ting selling it to the merchants. I'm not saying we should be sexist and ask Felicitas to do all the shopping but lets face it, sorry Hans, your not much prettier than ting :( edit: Appraise is an intelligence check so Hans would be better at it than ting, I guess that's why he values items based on "shiny"
Edit: Or we could just keep what we carry. As ting dumps his waterskin out to stuff gems in the neck :-)
Edit: @ GM Baerlie: Last question, do we need to buy animals for transportation to get there or will that happen some other way? Ting has a problem with horses and would prefer a donkey, just in case.

![]() |

@ GM Baerlie: Scratch the question on transportation, ting is going to have to walk, he spent all his money. Oh, I changed his feat to two-weapon fighting. He's done now, honest! :)

Hans Olafsson |

@Alexos: I recommend picking-up a wand for healing, at the very least (everyone else has; Hans bought two!)- we are going to be playing a module designed to take you from 1st to 6th level, and we don't have a dedicated healer...

![]() |

Once per session, you can acquire any single item of this cost or less from your faction by spending the appropriate number of Prestige Points. Items purchased this way are worth 0 gp and cannot be sold.
Can I buy two wands? I assumed since it said "once per session" I could only buy one now. If I can buy two I will spend the other two points on a second wand.

so are we really going into the wizards house instead of the sinkhole? Or are we just checking to see if he is home or what. Did the baroness sanction us opening his house?

The Emerald Duke |

My apologies for having fallen off the grid for the last few days. My work has moving from one building to another and has been having us help with the moving of everything we will need in our new location.
Suffice to say, I have been unable to post while at work and have been coming home late in the evening, tired and fried. I hope to be able to catch up on what has been happening in my games this weekend. If not I will update my status to reflect it.
Feel free to bot me if necessary, I do not want to hold up progress. I really am sorry for both my not being here and me taking this long to even post a generic message.
Regards,
-The Emerald Duke

when ting announced they were headed for the caves I did not take into consideration what time of day it was or how many hours they were in the tower, if it's been 12-14 hours maybe they should call it a day, please let us know.

![]() |

Hans and Felicitas (or Alex if the work load has lightened) should we move ahead or take the kobold prisoner to the duchess? I'm not familiar with fatigue or rest rules to know what's best. I think ting has become an adrenaline junky and would go until his tail-feathers fell out :-)

![]() |

I hate to asks this, but since the party is going to the town anyway, shall we leave Alex there to "guard" our kobold prisoner?
also, on a separate note, is there someone or some place ting might be able to purchase a master work thieves' tool kit from?
