Looking for suggestions for a Dwarven Barbarian Build...

Advice

I don't need optimization, but I am looking at a 20 pt buy for Shattered Star, and my theme is a melee guy that is competent with throwing weapons to soften up the baddies.

I can use all Paizo sources...Core, APG, UC, UM, UR and their splat books for Pathfinder.

Liberty's Edge

Go Invulnerable Rager.

Str 16 Dex 14 Con 16 Int 12 Wis 14 Cha 5

Feat: Power Attack (at 3rd level grab Steel Soul)

Carry throwing weapons. Done. At 5th or 7th you could grab Quick Draw for the thrown weapon thing, if you like. Ditto with Deadly Aim.

You could technically ditch mental stats for more Dex or Con, but I wouldn't bother. You could also drop Int and Wis for more Cha, but again, I wouldn't bother, personally.

You could easily go whatever route you like with Rage Powers, but I'd go the standard Beast Totem Line + Superstition Line stuff, but then I like those Rage Power lines.

I've actually experimented well with a Dragon Totem barbarian Invulnerable Rager. 16DR/- comes in mighty handy to shake off blows.

RPG Superstar 2012 Top 32

i kind of like deadman's stat suggestion, and you can't go wrong with invulnerable rager. raise str to 18 asap.

personally, if i was gonna build a switch hitter like this i'd grab a longhammer and combat reflexes (plus quick reflexes rage power) and quickdraw- wield your longhammer walking around (in case you get surprised) and if you need to make ranged attacks let go with one hand, quickdraw thrown weapons, and then regrasp the longhammer (free action) to get AoOs if/when they charge; buy a boulder helmet too so that you still threaten adjacent squares.

Nice touch with the boulder helm. That is a badass helm too.

I second the grabbing of Steel Soul. You also might wanna look at Urban Rager, seeing as it can give you a flexible buff when raging. If you do take Urban Rager, then the Superstition line of powers might be nice as well, since you lose your bonus to will.

I'm one of those people that wince when ever I see a stat below a 8. There's just way too many things in PF that can stat drain you.

The Int 10 Wis 12 Cha 8 version is still very viable, just not as fun or quite as effective, IMO.

I've always been a fan of the Armored Hulk on a dwarf. Aim for the superstition tree and just enjoy it. For stats I prefer Str 16, Dex 13, Con 16, Int 10, Wis 14, Cha 8. Enough dex to fill a suit of plate mail, enough bab to throw axes.

One thing I will mention, the Hurling line of rage powers would make a nice fir for your concept. The rage powers do give a couple nice benefits, like making your throwing weapons a ranged touch attack that can have power attack applied to them. Hurling Charge is a real nice addition, since it lets you make a throw as additional attack during a charge. Which especially synergizes nicely with some other big boosts to charging Barbarians can get.

Hurling charge synergizes wonderfully with opening volley. You start your charge, throw a weapon and if it hits you get +4 to hit with the melee attack at the end of the charge. This is in addition to the +2 to hit from charging. So not only do you get two attacks on a charge, if the first hits the second will be much more likely to hit, too.

Thank you all!

Hmm, does Hurling Charge work with pounce?
