While I won't be GMing, this is what we're looking for from GMs and players:
Fairly rolled stats on roll20 or a 15 or 20 point buy.
A four player group lead by a fifth person, a GM, that enjoys challenging, cooperative play within the pathfinder rules with little homebrewing and excellent role play.
Homebrewing is fine, I just don't want to discover a seventh "luck" statistic, a GM-designed race, and a starship unless you're James Jacobs.
Players that won't play a class or character that damages the story or whose good time is at the cost of others'. I've seen this in several forms
-Apparently drow.
-Evil characters.
-Neutral characters that refuse to go along with anything.
-Lawful good characters played in a way that play so bullheaded that they force others to go their way. (I've seen this in the form of paladins saying "I don't care if I'll die, my code doesn't allow this. If you don't join me, I'm going anyway.")
The nuts and bolts:
We would post once or twice daily, weekends optional (for all individually), with the understanding that life happens and may prevent a post here or there.
Option 1:
Paizo for posting
Paizo for character sheets.
Roll20 for combat.
Option 2: (My preference)
Google Groups for posting.
Myth-Weavers for character sheets.
Roll20 for combat.
If interested, please state the role you would like to play. Please understand this is not first come, first serve.
Ellal
If the GM allows it I will be playing a full orc bloodrager, chaotic good.
If orc is disallowed, I will be playing a half orc bloodrager, chaotic good.
If bloodrager is disallowed, I will be playing an orc barbarian, chaotic good.
If both are disallowed, I will be playing a half orc barbarian, chaotic good.
If both of those are disallowed, I think the GM is mistaken as to what game we're playing, chaotic good.
ginganinja
I'm very interested, and enjoy posting often. I potentially enjoy Option 1 best (just for ease of access), although Option 2 is also ok.
If invited, I would potentially bring in a charismatic skill monkey of sorts, such as a Bard or a Ninja, and go from there. Both character options would be CN, and I would potentially be looking at a halfling race for the ninja, and perhaps a Dhampir Bard (if allowed), that plays up the redemption of his bloodline.
Ellal
I'm personally interested in a balanced party out of the gate. A bard is too jack-of-all trades to be a capable replacement for anyone that he's replacing in a 4-person party and I've just found a rogue.
We've room left for a divine and an arcane. Would either role be of interest to you?
Option 2 means we can use images we pull off of google without worrying about copyright infringement. In a closed board we don't have to worry about getting sued. Equally, the GM can edit posts. The players, too, if we want to allow for it.

Nah im playing a sorcerer in a different game, and I don't feel like being a dedicated healer. You might want to try someone else for those roles.
EDIT upon further reflection I might have the beginnings of a character concept (likely an Oracle or a Sorcerer), I'll let you know in a few hours if I can think of something.

If I were running this campaign, here is what I would say:
----------------------------------
If you take "rich parents" or "chosen child" traits, trained tigers are 500 gp (325 untrained) and, proved that you started in Mwangi (when you read the player's guide you'll understand) available.
The celestial template would probably add one or two thousand, GM's discretion. I'd probably go 1500+D20x50gp to determine. If you can afford you take both of the mentioned traits, you can afford it at which point ok.
As GM, I would run the animal outside the confines of it's trained commands and successful handle animal checks. Celestial tigers have an intelligence of 2 and thus they can learn 6 tricks. If you pay the price for a trained animal rather than train it yourself, you're bound to get some commands you wouldn't like. Given the rarity of trained celestial tigers, you're even less likely to be able to cherry pick. To reflect this I would let you choose 4 of the tricks a trained tiger (noncelestial) knows but only 3 of the tricks for a trained celestial tiger.
While this sounds restrictive, starting animal companions over whom you, as the player, basically have complete control are the province of druids and rangers. They represent a significant part of their power and to hand it over to you lightly would be unbalanced.
Druids are also capable-enough healers, provided you choose to play them as such, and especially when wands are involved. You would also be given access to a normal tiger for free as a druid.
Paizo didn't think adding the celestial companion feat was a good choice for Pathfinder and I'm inclined to agree.
As a player within the campaign, I would rather run with an oracle with rich parents who has a pet tiger.
As a player in general I would rather see you go with what makes you happy.
As a GM I would rather see the party easier to kill for having an effective healer.
---------------------
Just giving you a celestial pet that you can more or less run as a familiar is more outside the rules than the campaign I'm trying to form.
Ellal
I could go druid or I was thinking about going cleric, either one, since it seems we have a couple of melee people already.
Spencer, you seem like a great candidate. Polite, succinct, and like you've gamed a while, but there's no post history. Do you post on any other boards so I can get an idea of your play style or at least your demeanor? It doesn't have to even be a gaming one, although that's preferred.

You would have a creature that has DR 5/evil at level 5, is part of the problem, unless you were fine with the tiger not leveling in HD as well. This would make sense to me, were I GM, as pets aren't the same as mounts, animal companions, or familiars and shouldn't level with you anyway. If this were the case I would be much more comfortable granting you a celestial tiger since they wouldn't get high enough to have the unbalancing DR
Spencer Bass
I have not had experience with posting on forums, if you are looking for someone with more experience with that aspect I completely understand. I was doing this for the experience. As far as the combat I do, depends on the type of character and backstory I have on that character. So it changes each time.
ginganinja
While this sounds restrictive, starting animal companions over whom you, as the player, basically have complete control are the province of druids and rangers.
Or Nature Oracles, Lunar Oracles and (from 4th level like a ranger) anything with a "mount" class feature. Speaking as a player, I would honestly feel a little upset at having an entire revelation torn away because "animal companions are only supposed to be for rangers / druids.
I apologise if I cause offence, I am utterly confused as to why you seem to be unfavourable to a Lunar Oracle gaining a tiger animal companion through a class feature...and then encourage me to play a druid.
EDIT: Relevant text
Primal Companion (Ex): You gain the service of a faithful animal of the night. You can select from a bear, boar, crocodile, shark, tiger, or wolf. This animal functions as a druid's animal companion, using your oracle level as your effective druid level.
Ellal
I was unaware of both of those oracle options nor do I have issue with either of them.
I didn't forget Samurai, Cavaliers, and Paladins. You are correct there but I wasn't aware you wanted a mount.
I would point out that a wolf has a CR 1, boar a CR 2, but a tiger has a CR 4 in addition to not being on the animal companion list for nature oracles. At lvl 9 you could become one with the lunar oracle's abilities.
Edit: Oh, I missed that. Sorry. New material. Well, there it is. I'd allow it. Just not celestial.
Ellal
Awesome! For now let's just pretend our GM would be happy with a 20 point build, 3 traits, one from the players guide. Let's have the players guide (free download) read, and you two pm me your emails to throw in the google group. If we go with paizo I'll delete the group. If not, I'll transfer ownership once we find somebody.
To anyone jumping in on this late:
We have a full party with
a teifling or elf rogue
a half orc or orc bloodrager or barbarian
a human sorcerer
a possibly dhampir or aasimar Lunar Oracle
We built our characters on a 20 point build with three traits, one from the players guide to serpent's skull, which we've all read or are reading.
Changes can be made. Links to characters will be up as they become more solidified.
We are still looking for a GM.
ginganinja
Actually, the Dhampir thing was only if I was playing a bard, because it meshed with the storyline I had planned. Im still possibly looking at a Lunar Oracle (its the most likely), but will let you know in a few hours if I decide to stick with this mystery without the Celestial Servant feat.
Are there particular mysteries you really like / think are good, or certain mysteries you don't like Ellal which might narrow down my choices?
Kororinda Menutswene
Where are you advertising for a GM? Have you considered other sites? It can be difficult to get a GM, although having a full party (or a nice group of contenders) is a good start. Or not, depending on the GM. :)
I think Koro is a 25 point build and has the standard 2 traits, but I can fix that. 3 traits? Ooh...Magical Lineage!
Kororinda Menutswene
Reflavoring Koro slightly, as it looks to be unfair to take two magical traits--and ML Shocking Grasp is an option I haven't tried. Swapping out Havoc of the Society for Student of Nantambu, as I'll be the only arcane and will need to know my Kn Arcana and Spellcraft, and I have a feeling the bloodrager will handle Intimidate jusssst fine.
I appreciate all the proactivity and dedication, Ellal. I haven't used roll20 nor Myth-Weavers before, but I'm sure they are easy enough. GITP was what I was thinking of, advertising-wise.
Looking forward to seeing other people's crunch and fluff!
Ellal
They are fairy user-friendly, indeed. As for traits, it's a written rule that you can't have two of the same type. A lot of them are redundant across types, though, so sometimes you can cheat the system, but in other ways you cannot.
Want 1800 gp to start? With GM's approval you can get Rich Parents (Start with 900 gp) and Chosen Child (increase starting gold by 900). There seems to be no reason that won't work.
However, if you took reactionary and paragon of speed, you'd be out of luck: Trait bonuses do not stack.
I posted on Giantitp but I can't even find the post anymore. New to the forum. Would you care to post?
We have a full party and are still looking for a GM
Ellal
I have two posts up already looking for people for serpent's skull and we may be getting hurt by looking for a GM AND players. Would anyone else like to let this post die into the backlogs and they can post a "Full group of LVL 1s looking for GM for Serpent's Skull PBP" thread? On the label it more accurately describes us, now.

Haha this is why I want to go to Google Groups. Errors and changes can be edited for better accuracy.

I've recently found out that myth weavers doesn't allow for recruitment for a campaign off of their site. I have no intention of being a part of a site that only lets you be a part of the community if you don't want to supplement from other communities.
As such, we should scratch MW from option 2. Google Drive and Paizo are the best two hosts I can think of at the moment.
Ellal
Indeed. I'm considering giving it a whirl.
We seem to be dead in the water, though. We've lost our oracle and we haven't got a GM. No GM and no Healer is a recipe for death.
I recommend looking elsewhere for a game. I will keep an eye out for a GM and if this one kicks off I will be sure to inform you.
Ellal
I have rarely had a classic experience gaming. I just want a group that has four or five people, each of whom has something they're good at, and they work in synergy.
Ginganinja was adament about exploring what I consider an unbalancing obscure rule in a book that states GMs should consider strongly whether they will allow it in their campaign.
I have found few things in Pathfinder unbalancing. One of them is the drow nobility feat tree, another is the noble drow race, and the other is the celestial servant aasimar feat, which was the rule in question.

If you are still looking for a DM, I can do this, but first does everyone have X-Box live? I have this idea of running the game using headsets and everyone on at the same time. The maps can be drawn on the site, so we can be on the xbox home page and on the paizo all at the same time assuming we can all be on at the same time. The actions and stuff will be done verbally using the headsets, maps will be posted on paizo when there are maps. Kind of like a live game only I can't see anyone's faces. I have xbox 360 not xbox 1 if that helps.
Also, if I DM this, it will be any race 13 race points or less.
Ellal
We are back in business. I am going to detail again for everyone what we're doing.
This was started up and stopped but I will be updating every post now with what we've got and what we're looking for.
We are looking for a dedicated group of players looking to play a classic-style game of Pathfinder: Everyone has a role and they are good at it. Everyone works together to battle the forces known as whatever the hell the GM throws at us. Rules adherence and role playing are enjoyed and admired. Challenge reveled in.
We have a GM.
As I understand it right now we are running on standard:
20 point buy
2 traits, 1 from the AP
Some advanced races available
Make sure you read the players guide.
No evil
Desired group composition: GM, Striker, Sneak, Arcane, Divine.
Tentative current compostion: GM, Striker, Sneak, Arcane. Divine needed
Ellal
Oh, sorry, I meant to reply to that. Sorry DG.
You should look into Roll20 using skype. It does what you're talking about. PBP is for people like KM and myself who can't or won't dedicate the block of hours in a week to an online game. Thank you.
Seriously, though: Look into Roll20. Nobody who knows of it will want to do xbox live with a camera. I'm not down on it, it's an awesome idea and the dedication is great, but people will suggest Roll20.

Ginganinja was adament about exploring what I consider an unbalancing obscure rule in a book that states GMs should consider strongly whether they will allow it in their campaign.
Can you seriously not take words out of my mouth please (so to speak), as that wasn't the reason at all and as such your implication offends me.

I have skype, but I don't know what parts of skype is free or what roll20 is on skype? Am I going to be charged?
How does everyone feel about a small amount of homebrewing? For example, outside, okay 5% of natural disaster or 10% of hard working conditions, just because the book says sunny, does not mean sunny, I could say heavy rain.

I'm sorry, that sounds awful out of context. The previous post read
Yeah, we private messaged a bit about what we want out of the campaign. No hard feelings between us but our play styles weren't going to mesh.
I agree, however, I implied we were butting heads. That implication was incorrect. I rather enjoyed the debate and saw no harm in not wanting to game together. It was certainly a decision reached cordially.
Correction: We had a friendly debate about the value of celestial companions within a campaign and though that discussion determined we may be better to game apart or, at the very least, Ganga decided this wasn't the campaign for him where I'm fielding candidates.
Ellal
*potential edit to the post above: I do not actually know whether "him" is the proper pronoun to describe ganganinja. My bad again.

Play-by-Post it will be as not many people can do live games.
Any race 15 or less, yes I changed the requirements.
I'll make a new thread, with a different alias, so I can track things easier. It won't be a brand new alias, just one not in use.
Make sure to do the recruiting here as the game will be labeled private.
I do not own any pathfinder books outside of AP's so only use stuff from this website. Pathfinder Website
