Liberty's Edge

Purple. They are all purple. End of discussion.

The Exchange

For some reason I'm reminded of many happy hours with the Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War army editor, producing orc armies dressed in pastel blue with electric orange trim... Chaos Warriors in daisy-yellow with electronic eyes of magenta...

"Go forth, my Chartreuse Legion of the Accursed! Show them the true meaning of terror! Show them the true meaning of evil! Show them the true meaning of fashion disaster!"

Liberty's Edge

I can't help but go to MTG's colors:

LG: Blue white
NG: White
CG: Green
LN: Blue
CN: Green Red
LE: Blue Black
NE: Black
CE: Red Black

They are all shades of gray

Two alignment system.

You know, I read the thread title, and I was really expecting this to be a discussion of how the alignments correspond to Magic: the Gathering's color pie.

Since ShadowcatX decided to go with that, I figure I might as well put in my two cp using the same system.

Lawful Good: Green/White
- Green and White overlap with a focus on tradition and the importance of the community over the individual.

Neutral Good: White
- While White in MTG isn't necessarily good, it is the color most associated with morality and selflessness. It's also the color of order, which means it's probably more lawful than neutral, but...out of the MTG colors, this is the closest to NG.

Chaotic Good: Red/White
- White I've already covered, and Red is the color of impulse and passion. The overlap between both colors is in the desire to protect that which is precious, and gods help whomever gets in their way.

Lawful Neutral: White/Blue
- White is the color of order, and Blue is the color of knowledge and analysis, and is associated with dispassion. As such, this is the color combination most likely to set rules and restrictions, and then enforce them with a fair - if less than merciful - hand.

True Neutral: Green
- Green is the color of nature, and the natural way. What's more neutral than that?

Chaotic Neutral: Red
- As I mentioned earlier, Red is all about impulse and passion. What Red wants to do, Red does, and it'll deal with the consequences later. If at all.

Lawful Evil: White/Black
- White is the color of order, and Black is the color of selfishness, ambition, and amorality. When you combine the worst traits of both, you end up with a character who will twist and use the system to their own ends.

Neutral Evil: Black
- Like White is not necessarily good, Black is not necessarily evil, but it is the color most closely associated with it. Black is willing to do anything, pay any price, if it feels there's benefit in it.

Chaotic Evil: Black/Red
- Black and Red overlap in extreme selfishness, and with Red's impulsiveness combined with Black's amorality and ambition, you end up with a character with no restrictions on what they can do.

I believe anti-neutral would be LG, CG, LE, or CE.

No, anti-neutral can't be any of those because LG is the foe of CE and LE is CG! Why would they hate the middle man?

You know what, probably best not to think too hard about this one. Anti-neutral is bronze though. Just like those good aligned dragons.

Edit: Tbh I think all those anti-neutral spells look like they were written by Zap.

A true neutral weapon dedicated to slaying the opposite alignment. would be targeting those four corner ones.

A chaotic guy can throw off balance as much as, or even more than, a CE one. Just targeting those four corners makes you vulnerable. better attack everyone, including other neutrals, just to be sure.

Liberty's Edge

Y'all clearly have synaesthesia.

These are the colors or color combinations I personally associate with the different alignments:

Lawful Good: Blue and Gold ("knightly" colors, blue is associated with loyalty in heraldry)
Neutral Good: Pure White (associated with innocence, holiness and purity)
Chaotic Good: Green and Silver or Cyan/Teal (fresh and "airy" colors, green is associated with new life, hope and youth)

Lawful Neutral: Steel or Iron Gray (cold, hard, and mechanical)
Neutral: Any shade of gray (unaligned)/Brown or Ivory (druids and others who advocate balance as a philosophy)
Chaotic Neutral: Fiery Orange (or some weird motley of the other colors)

Lawful Evil: Purple (or Crimson Red) and Gold (opulent and sophisticated colors, purple and crimson are associated with nobility and wealth)
Neutral Evil: Black (associated with darkness, death and oblivion)
Chaotic Evil: Rust Red (the color of dried blood, can be associated with entropy and ruin)

Sovereign Court

OK, so maybe it;s the Babylon 5 fan in me, but the black/grey/white would have to be the chaos/neutral/law axis ... which would translate to light color vs dark color at the extremes.

For the evil to good range, since red tends to be associated with evil by a good number of people and good has been getting associated with blue, it would seem the ROYGBIV pattern would also follow.

And as for green and purple, he who takes green is green and follows green leader ...

Purple is Good. Green is Evil. You can't talk to Green people. *shrugs*

LG - White
LE - Black

These two alignments are rigid, seeing everything in terms of black and white.

CE - Red, representing fire, the destructive side of chaos
CG - Green, representing growing things, the creative side of chaos

Neutral - clear, colorless.

NG, NE, CN, and LN all seem pretty arbitrary to me. With that in mind:

NG - Yellow
NE - Purple
CN - Blue
LN - Gray
