Let's be clear. A lot of people will think they have a griefing problem but in reality most of the time they'll be seeing the effects of legitimate harvesting activities by small groups and individuals just doing what we intended - exploring, finding valuable nodes, and harvesting them.
You might not like the fact that your neighborhood is infested with "pickers" bit that's not a problem for customer service.
The problem is a persistent, organized group that overwhelms the hex with harvesters to keep it from naturally regenerating, and who do so while remaining cloaked in NPC Settlements immune to the mechanical remedies of War and Feud. That's what we will have issues with.

Will War and Feud mechanics be in at the beginning of EE or is it TBD?

Cheatle - Once, maybe. But on a regular basis? I'm not so sure. Most trolls I've seen don't go for the long angle; they'd rather hurt people's feelings right away.
KarlBob, from my experiences in MMORPGs over the years, specifically Darkfall and Mortal Online, I believe you VASTLY under-estimate trolls.

I think the issue Bringslite, is that until we fully see the system functioning no balances will be implemented. I have faith in the GW team though, I think everyone knows this of me.
Here is what I see...
I want to preface this by saying that all of these are hypothetical situations, and that GW may have measures in place to counter act them.
...
I clipped out most of that to shorten the reference back to the original post, but I want to say "thank you" to Cheatle for being someone here thinking about exploits and pointing out how they will work. As I posted in another thread, exploits will happen and the best of intended systems will be used by griefers or people trying to do anything to get ahead (and against people trying to play the game as intended). It's critical that these things be exposed as early as possible. If some of the community (or all) have faith that GW will address these issues, fine and great, but I, for one, am appreciative of someone actively thinking about unintended ways to abuse a system, pointing these things out, and offering ways to make the system stronger. Thousands of minds will be looking at these systems later, many will find creative ways to abuse them, and a good number of those may act on those creative methods. More minds looking at potential exploits and pointing them out now is a very good thing.

Another thing I forgot to add,
Ryan said that one reason Dwarves and Elves are not implemented yet, is that GW really wants to take its time and make sure the art is done correctly.
He said that they want to make the races visually distinct and the demihumans will have varied features and skin tones so they don't all look based on "Northern European" ethnicities.
When will dwarves be available?

Nope. Individuals don't own land, in the first place, except as members of a community. The community can claim and defend land, but not without investing a bit of themselves.
Weird.
So the only private property in the game is what ever you carry, bank or build, but never land so no one will ever own their own home or farm?
I thought we could have our own homes.

You can plop down a smallholding in an unclaimed hex, or a claimed hex with the claiming community's approval. You have what you hold, and only a community can hold land.
Bummer.
So you can own a building, but never the land it is on.
I gather a farmer never owns their own farm only some kind of commune or authority. This seems like a very sad approach for a game that is supposed to be set in the River Kingdoms.

What does it mean to own land?
In the state of nature, it means that you have sufficient real power to bar others from the territory you claim. So yes, if you're a big enough badass you can own land in an unclaimed hex.
In a civilization, owning land means having societal recognition that the land you claim is yours. So yes, you can own land in a claimed hex so long as you can convince your settlement's leadership to recognize your claim.
There's no game-mechanic way to own land in any intrinsic, fundamental sense in PFO. There isn't in the real world, either. All landownership relies either on the agreement of your neighbors that that land is yours, or their fear of what will happen if they reject your claim.

Well,
A company can own a POI. A company can own an outpost (with the permission of the owner of the POI).I have not seen minimum for a company.
Even if there could be a 1 person company, I suspect one person can not generate DI for either of these. But if you are the leader of said company (say FC or DS or … O ) and your friends would help then, maybe.
Own the company, company owns the land, company (and allies) defends the land.

The difficult art is why they aren't in alpha yet.
Their artists are having a difficult time properly conveying my beauty in only two dimensions. If the game must be delayed in order to properly show a graphic representation of me, so be it!
