Hey Remmnant any word on my concept?

Xizor looks really interesting especially with how synesthist effects your stats. With all those who have applied so far it appears that the Vampire Drow is the most normal of our lot so far.

Seems pretty logical that they would be rivals of some sort since there primary food sources are the same and that could make for some interesting interactions.

Ckkxxchtki locks its multitude of eyes onto 'The Hungerer' its insectiod eyes never blink, its chitinous body does not move... it waits, it watches with a patience that is otherworldly...

Deciding that unless 'The Hungerer' chooses to attack it. It will not make the first move, but if the creature decides to do so... Ckkxxchtki will make the last.

@Zain, so why don't you just use the Unfettered eidolon creature as a base? I mean if you plan on rocking the zerg idea it would leave you open for future evolution.
Something akin to the Unfettered Eidolon would be what I would like, I was hoping to purchase RP abilities mostly because there are a few things that cannot be replicated without it. I could likely make the overwhelming majority of what I want to do work with EP though so perhaps EP progesssion as a Unfettered Eidolon could work(Maybe I need to spend feats in order to get RP? that seems pretty sensible)

I'd suggest either an "Extra Race Point" feat, equivalent to (and restricted like) the Extra Evolution Point feat, or just a flat EP-to-RP conversion ratio.

But what race options would you want that aren't available to eidolons? It might just be easier to package them up, and say "This costs X EP" than trying to price each one individually.

huh.. you know after reviewing the list for RP abilities there actually is not that much there that is not already covered by the Summoner/Eidolon list. Back when I made that comment I was thinking more in terms of Spell Like Abilities but now I do not think I'd really need many more and even if i DO I can get a good variety of things from the magic evolution.

I think perhaps I just assumed that the Eidolons were far more limited than I had anticipated and perhaps got caught up in the idea of stealing racial abilities but the majority of those are feats and bonuses to skills which I can accomplish with EP and just actually obtaining those feats/skill ranks.

'Clikk eats a particularly impressive Drow Bard and now knows how to pay a lute!' (Spends EP on Skilled: Preform(String))
(Working name is 'Clikk' being what it is called by those who 'know' it but have not (yet) been eaten)

Heres my proposition for Clikk

Clikk the Hunter from Beyond:

Type: Aberration (3 RP)
Size: Medium (0 RP)
Speed: Normal (0 RP)
Ability Scores: Flexible- +2 Dexterity, +2 Intelligence (2 RP)
Languages: Linguise (1 RP)

Taits-
At-Will Nondetectio(Self Only) (6 RP)
At-Will Ventrilloquism (2 RP)
Greater Change Shape (6 RP)
Scent (4RP)
Gliding Wings (3 RP)
Darkvision 60'ft (Free, Aberration)

Total: 27

Clikk begins with 1 Hit Die, a +2 natural armor bonus, and the evasion ability. As an Clikks Hit Dice increase (see Evolution Points, below), it gains additional bonuses and abilities. At 2 Hit Dice, and every 3 HD thereafter, an Clikk's base armor bonus increases by +2. This bonus may be split between an armor bonus and a natural armor bonus. Also at 2 Hit Dice, and every 3 HD thereafter, an Clikk adds +1 to both its Strength and Dexterity scores. At 5 Hit Dice, and every 4 HD thereafter, an Clikk adds +1 to any one of its ability scores. At 7 Hit Dice, an Clikk gains Multiattack as a bonus feat.

Progression would be as such

Level 1: +8 Evolution Pionts / +2Na / Evasion
Level 2: +1 Evolution Point /+2NA / +1 Str and Dex
Level 3: +1 Evolution Point
Level 4: +1 Evolution Point
Level 5: +1 Evolution Point / +2NA / +1 Str and Dex / +1 Any Ability Score
Level 6: +1 Evolution Point
Level 7: +1 Evolution Point / Multiattack
Level 8: +1 Evolution Point / +2NA / +1 Str and Dex
Level 9: +1 Evolution Point / +1 Any Ability Score
Level 10: +1 Evolution Point
Level 11: +1 Evolution Point / +2NA / +1 Str and Dex
Level 12: +1 Evolution Point
Level 13: +1 Evolution Point / +1 Any Ability Score
Level 14: +1 Evolution Point / +2NA / +1 Str and Dex
Level 15: +1 Evolution Point
Level 16: +1 Evolution Point
Level 17: +1 Evolution Point / +2NA / +1 Str and Dex / +1 Any Ability Score
Level 18: +1 Evolution Point
Level 19: +1 Evolution Point
Level 20: +2NA / +1 Str and Dex

Assuming my race and the Unfettered Eidolon's advancement equates to the 2 'bonus' levels that would give me 14 Evolution Points to work with, ideally if possible to spend on things from the Summoner Eidolon's list as the Unfettered List is a bit lacking. I'll give full explanation on where each evolution comes from as well!

Clikk looks down at the newcomer its scent new and interesting, it was very rare that something so strange ventured so far into her territory, once she had laid claim to the settlement most of the 'apex' predators had packed up and moved on to 'greener pastures' those that had stayed became fuel for her evolution they gave her claws and fury and most importantly information. Not much as the predators of the forests were not very bright. But enough.

But this little newcomer was interesting, its scent so strange but yet somehow familiar. Clikk opened her mouth and made the sound that was her namesake, a series of almost chirplike clicks that would soon be followed by voices. Dozens of voices swarming about the little insectoid creature saying a single word 'hello?' the voices belonged to those that had become apart of Clikk, men women children, she favored a child's voice though and the sound of a young girl speaking elven would be the most pervasive among the sea of voices.

I have about 6 posts in here to get caught up on. Looks like we have a good 5 to 6 great ideas to run with. I will start the game thread either late Tomorrow or Early Saturday. For everyone my work schedule is Sun, Mon, Tue, Thur 10 hour days. Off Wed, Fri, Sat. So those three days will be my main posting days. Just an FYI with occasional phone updates on breaks and such on my work days.

Submittals in before Sunday if at all possible and anticipate the intro post (overall one) up in here and copied in the gameplay thread at the same time. I have a dozen some ideas to flesh out a little more and then post the intro, without a ton of scheming based off of what people are playing.

That said time to do some more reading, writing, NPC creation notes, and draft my intro.

The vibe might be more Necromancers and Monstrous Madmen than just Monsters and Madmen.

Remnant, will I start with a host or will you provide me with a wandering monster to find..?

Ckkxxchtki looks at Clikk, not understanding the elvish word. its mandibles produce a series of clicks and whistles that somehow replicate undercommon, 'Keep your distance' it warns the larger creature, clicking its pincers.

Welk i had thrown up an Alchemically invisible gnome illusionist in th first thread but i didnt have time to actually flesh him out, and would love a chance to do so here :)

He had one big weakness tho. Even though he was invisible, most of the party would have been able to sense him with blindsense, tremmorsense, sent or something similar so even though he would have been invisible, he would have still been very detectable...
Then i saw a solution. You can create a Mythic Legendary Item with the undetectable ability (near the botom).
Undetectable wrote:

*Undetectable*: This grants its bonded user the ability to become utterly undetectable while invisible
. While invisible
and in physical contact with this item, the bonded creature can't be detected or scryed by any method.

So my idea is that i have just this ability (or something similar, more defined and possibly weaker) at the cost of a feat or level and then i could play a half crazy gnome who the world has chosen to ignore, cursed to forever be unknown and who cannot be heard or seen or found. And it has driven him half mad. His only way to interact with the world is through creating illusions and bending others perceptions (yet even then they cannot percieve him or even an illusion of him) and taking on the physical manifestation of "chance" or "fate" or "the wind".

i think it would be great fun, and a great challenge, to try and play someone who cannot speak yet has to try and communicate through illusions, who cannot be seen and who everyone refuses to acknowledge he even exists at all. While it would be hard to harm him directly, he would still be affected by AoE spells and hazardsand he cant expect healing from anyone!

I seriously hate to say no to any concept or idea, but that seems more like a cursed NPC idea than an actual PC. Will have to consider it all though. Might be very difficult to get the point across via only illusions and all that.

I'm sure the GM can work some fine and fun things with Devilbound template ;).

The idea is for a Drow noble (puts me at +3cr so lvl 4 or normal drow, not sure yet) who came from a lycanthrope family within the underdark. The lycanthrope aspect of the family was a well kept secret but unfortunately other families found out and my characters family was targeted for destruction. My character survived by making a contract with a demon (as drow are chaotic evil). Now he has to work of his contract by performing tasks for his master.

Hope you like it.

I really like this idea. Having made one variant drow race already, along with a liking for Drider and Llolth along with a liking of Wererats this sounds excellent so far.

Cool, im putting some levels of monk in there for fluff and some nice abilities with unarmed/natural attacks.

Its a pain to make in scoreforge, but I'm nearly done.

Would you wave the lawful requirement for a drow monk?

For a Drow oriented Monk, considering the idea that dedication to the training is what makes the monk more so than alignment then yes I would wave in this circumstance the core Lawful requirement. I would personally prefer no Chaotic, but even the most random of person can have a central principle.

Eight spots on the goblins' back begin to glow an eerie purple, as the goblinoid's body grows in size... The now man sized goblin is still horrifyingly wounded, but its lack of making any unnecessary movement, or even staunching the bloodflow, is unlike what any normal creature would do

Ckkxxchtki is a Psychometabolist, capable of altering the body of itself and its host with only its mind

6 levels in Psion, specializing in Psychometabolism.

If the DM is okay with it I think that "When inhabiting a host, it can treat the host as itself for the purposes of spells that have a personal descriptor." this is a reasonable power, that fits Ckkxxchtki very well

Yes spells that would affect Ckkxxchtki would also affect the host. Thinking in terms of like the things implanted in the TV series Falling Skies or like when the Triffids took over a host. It would affect the host body naturally.

I think a nice little Goblin Body would be a good starting host for him/it as well.

Third time is the charm ^^

Concept, @Remnant:

I like both vampires and soheis - but never really get any chance to play them. So I made a Sohei Vampire. (Sohei is a monk archetype - they trade a few of the most obvious SU powers for skill at arms.) I'm thinking Human Sohei 7, +2 CR Vampire

There was a first question here, but I got it answered : )

Then comes my second question - would/do you allow retrained feats at start (for the listed price, of course!).

Fury's Fall helps a lot when tripping people, but monks can only pick up the prerequisite Improved Trip at level 6 - forcing me to wait one more level until it really works (unless I can retrain into it :) ). In a similar vein, Wolf Trip helps the build synergize (with Vicious Stomp especially!) but also becomes available at 6.

Furthermore - vampires have some dietary requirements. I suspect that no-one in the party would like to be food (I'm watching you 'Hungerer'! If you eat 'em, I call dibs on their liquid components... ^^). Besides - vampires have their dominate power and unless Golarion drow is far from the sort I know, slaves should be readily available. So I was thinking of having some sort of minion following me around, helping with utility and serving as dinner if it all goes south.

Thus my third question - how do you feel about cohorts from Leadership or the Squire feat?

Third B - what character level would I use to qualify? My HD or the 'effective character level' of 9? Or something else ?

Whew! Now over to the good parts - backstory. It's not concrete yet, but I was thinking along the lines of:

*Human Aristocrat enjoys duelling and combat

*Human Aristocrat haughtily challenges stranger, loses

*Human Aristocrat turns vampire

*Human Aristocrat enjoys ruling over his nice mansion and frightened subjects

*Mean knights in shiny armour forcibly evicts him

*Human Aristocrat flees for his life

*Human Aristocrat takes up residence in far of ruins

*Human Aristocrat broods

Now, so far pretty standard story. The first part (duel) is inspired a bit from an old short story in Warhammer's Vampire Count book. The rest is pretty generic vampire villain story. But the part that comes next is the twist - the vampire realizes he can't really go back to the glory days of old. Even if he managed to subjugate some distant village, people would notice sooner or later. And no matter his own might - with the help of the sun he always risks defeat. No, he needs a place where that can never happen. Somewhere the sun never shines ...

Eureka! The vampire laughed in his lonely tower. "The Darklands shall be my haven!". He had heard the legends when he was younger, a mortal. Wast caverns spanning the bowels of the earth. the cruel races that dwelled within. Sounds cosy enough he thought to himself and set out to find entrance to this blessed domain. Now, this journey might not be easy or short - so there is plenty of room for more story here.

Fast forward, the happy vampire has found his way down under and lives contently in one of its dark cities. The threat of the sun is a distant nightmare at best, and threats are plenty. Should he like, he might even enter one of the bloodsport arenas for fun - not expecting defeat but not fearing it either. Now, his chaotic neighbours might not appreciate his blatant lawfulness - which could be further seeds for a short story. But yet, as the decades pass the vampire becomes increasingly annoyed that he was actually *forced* down underground. Sure, he liked it down here. But those pesky mortals probably think *they* won. We can't have that, can we ?

Then, one day, someone comes with an offer. Rally to my side - and I shall grant you your wish ...

This might be anything plot appropriate - but by now the vampire would probably pounce at the chance to journey to the overworld and slay some paladins. Or at least snub them in some way. It might not matter whom they are, but it they are the same that drove him away all those years ago - even better.

Or perhaps the mysterious entity offers him a shield against the sun (in the form of the +0 CR template linked bellow!) as a reward so that he, at an later point, might carry out his vengeance alone. Or a mix of both!

Sunlight Resistance (Su) (CR +0)

This ability provides a vampire a measure of resistance against sunlight. On the second and all later rounds of exposure to direct sunlight, the vampire takes damage equal to one-third of its maximum hit points and is destroyed if this brings it to 0 hit points. The vampire is staggered on any round it is exposed to direct sunlight.

I would appreciate any comments on the general outline of the story, and the planned build.

And kudos for slogging all the way trough - it turned into quite a wall : ) Cheers! //Lessah

The rough draft is up under this alias.

There was a wisp/synthesist floating about

My concept is the Siabrae Samsaran druid.
Name is Sanriel, a driven zealot to his cause and very unkind person to meet on the streets.
All is permissible for the greater good and all that rot.

I also believe there were at least two different drows - but I am not 100% : )

You missed me, with Xizor. I haven't made an alias for him yet. I also haven't bought any items yet either - I'll probably get a chance to do that tomorrow night.

Another thing I have yet to do is really go into his personality or backstory much. Very much a flat statblock at the moment, but that's something else I hope to take care of tomorrow.

I posted a backstory for a character idea but I hadn't done the sheet yet. I think it is complete now. Haven't made an alias yet, I will if I'm in though. I had another question also, would you allow me to use a flaw?

Backstory:

Zorryn did not know it but he had something in his blood that would one day change his life. Make that two somethings. These somethings were ancient bloodlines normally to weak to be noticed on their own, but due to there being two separate and distinct influences, the drow scientists discovered it quite quickly. Zorryn was a slave to the drow. One of the least fortunate ones, they used him and others in their terrible exepriments. If not for the hidden bloodlines being discovered he would have long been dead. But they kept him alive, experimented on him more trying to see what strange things could come from manipulating the two bloodlines and watching them interract. They played with him, injecting strange chemicals and magical energies into him forcing things to happen. There was a war inside him, it caused him great pain as the Fiend attempted to destroy the Dragon and the Dragon lashed back. This agony lasted for days and he wished he could died but they would not let him. They healed him and kept him breathing. It was the worst form of torture, being eaten alive from the inside. From their efforts his body began to change, he grew wings, claws and sharp teeth. His skin changed, becoming scaly and black like dragon scales but mixed with a hellish red tinge. This delighted the scientists and their experiments escalated. Even though the pain never stopped he got used to it in a way. He developed powers, breathing acid and calling forth darkness. The drow decided they would test him further. He was made to fight and kill others to see how strong he truly was and he was magnificent to them, killing all they set in his path. Zorryn killed one of the scientists who was foolish enough to get too close to him. He thought they would kill him for that but they just hurt him even more and were more careful after that. His strength grew and grew but he was powerless to save himself.

One day he was being transported to be presented to one of the nobles. The scientists hoped to gain favour and wealth by selling him to the highest bidder. Through the underdark they travelled when they were attacked by a group of vampires. What drove them to attack no one knows, but it was bloody and short. When he was freed from his magically sealed box and stood there in front of several vampires he saw the bodies of all the drow lying dead around him. Several vampires had been staked also. The leader of the vampires saw inside him and seeking gain offered Zorryn to join them instead of death. In that moment of being free of the Drow but having the choice of another master or death he was strangely afraid. He did not want to die, the pain had even become a friend, making life a glory few experience at his level. Knowing his strength the Vampires leader changed him herself. He became a vampire like none other. The vampirism changed him in more than the usual ways. It seemed to use the strength of both Fiend and Dragon in him to become more powerful than any of the other vampires. They were weaker and even she who created him was not as strong as him. She feared that he would rise up and destroy her so she released him and he left. Now finally free. He wanders and survives, feeding from whatever weak specimens appear in front of him. He desires revenge on the drow for what they did to him and he also wished to thank them as they die. He wouldn't be stopped by them. Not even their powerful nobles could hope to match him. But then a voice called to him in his rest and a gift was found after waking up with no trace of who left it there. A ring and Armour to help protect him and a bow that grew stronger and more powerful along with him. A generous gift, so he decided to seek out this voice and travelled to where he would meet it.

Personality/Appearance:

Zorryn is almost 7ft. tall with a fully extended wing span of 14ft. The leathery black wings have red streaks along the length. His skin is pale where it is not protected by the dark-red edged black scales. Sharp claws extend from his fingers and pointed teeth show when he smiles. His unscaled torso is protected by magically enhanced leather armour and a blood red hangs over his shoulders. His long white hair is threaded into a plait with red ribbons and a moment later his form changes. Now he is a simple human, how he would have been if he had lived a normal life.

Special Abilities
--------------------
Smite Good(Su) Once per day, as a swift action, the half-fiend can smite good as the smite evil ability of a paladin of the same level as the half-fiend’s Hit Dice, except affecting a good target. The smite persists until target is dead or the half-fiend rests.
Breath Weapon(Black Dragon = Acid) A half-dragon retains all the special attacks of the base creature and gains a breath weapon usable once per day based on the dragon variety (see below). The breath weapon deals 1d6 hit points of damage per racial HD possessed by the half-dragon (Reflex half; DC 10 + 1/2 creature's racial HD + creature's Con modifier).
Blood Drain(Su) A vampire can suck blood from a grappled opponent; if the vampire establishes or maintains a pin, it drains blood, dealing 1d4 points of Constitution damage. The vampire heals 5 hit points or gains 5 temporary hit points for 1 hour (up to a maximum number of temporary hit points equal to its full normal hit points) each round it drains blood.
Children of the Night(Su) Once per day, a vampire can call forth 1d6+1 rat swarms, 1d4+1 bat swarms, or 2d6 wolves as a standard action. (If the base creature is not terrestrial, this power might summon other creatures of similar power.) These creatures arrive in 2d6 rounds and serve the vampire for up to 1 hour.
Create Spawn(Su) A vampire can create spawn out of those it slays with blood drain or energy drain, provided that the slain creature is of the same creature type as the vampire's base creature type. The victim rises from death as a vampire spawn in 1d4 days. This vampire is under the command of the vampire that created it, and remains enslaved until its master's destruction. A vampire may have enslaved spawn totaling no more than twice its own Hit Dice; any spawn it creates that would exceed this limit become free-willed undead. A vampire may free an enslaved spawn in order to enslave a new spawn, but once freed, a vampire or vampire spawn cannot be enslaved again.
Dominate(Su) A vampire can crush a humanoid opponent's will as a standard action. Anyone the vampire targets must succeed on a Will save or fall instantly under the vampire's influence, as though by a dominate person spell (caster level 12th). The ability has a range of 30 feet. At the GM's discretion, some vampires might be able to affect different creature types with this power.
Energy Drain(Su) A creature hit by a vampire's slam (or other natural weapon) gains two negative levels. This ability only triggers once per round, regardless of the number of attacks a vampire makes.
Change Shape(Su) A vampire can use change shape to assume the form of a dire bat or wolf, as beast shape II.
Gaseous Form(Su) As a standard action, a vampire can assume gaseous form at will (caster level 5th), but it can remain gaseous indefinitely and has a fly speed of 20 feet with perfect maneuverability.
Shadowless(Ex) A vampire casts no shadows and shows no reflection in a mirror.
Spider Climb(Ex) A vampire can climb sheer surfaces as though under the effects of a spider climb spell.
Alchemy(Su) When using Craft (alchemy) to create an alchemical item, an alchemist gains a competence bonus equal to his class level on the Craft (alchemy) check. In addition, an alchemist can use Craft (alchemy) to identify potions as if using detect magic. He must hold the potion for 1 round to make such a check.
Brew Potion(Ex) At 1st level, alchemists receive Brew Potion as a bonus feat. An alchemist can brew potions of any formulae he knows (up to 3rd level), using his alchemist level as his caster level. The spell must be one that can be made into a potion. The alchemist does not need to meet the prerequisites for this feat.
Throw Anything(Ex) All alchemists gain the Throw Anything feat as a bonus feat at 1st level. An alchemist adds his Intelligence modifier to damage done with splash weapons, including the splash damage if any.
Mutagen(Su) +2 natural armor bonus and a +4 alchemical bonus to the selected ability score for 10 minutes per alchemist level. In addition, while the mutagen is in effect, the alchemist takes a –2 penalty to one of his mental ability scores. If the mutagen enhances his Strength, it applies a penalty to his Intelligence. If it enhances his Dexterity, it applies a penalty to his Wisdom. If it enhances his Constitution, it applies a penalty to his Charisma.
Sneak Attack 3d6 At 1st level, a vivisectionist gains the sneak attack ability as a rogue of the same level. If a character already has sneak attack from another class, the levels from the classes that grant sneak attack stack to determine the effective rogue level for the sneak attack’s extra damage dice (so an alchemist 1/rogue 1 has a +1d6 sneak attack like a 2nd-level rogue, an alchemist 2/rogue 1 has a +2d6 sneak attack like a 3rd-level rogue, and so on).
Torturer's Eye At 2nd level, a vivisectionist adds deathwatch to his formula book as a 1st-level extract.
Cruel Anatomist At 3rd level, a vivisectionist may use his Knowledge (nature) skill bonus in place of his Heal skill bonus.
Discovery(Su) At 2nd level, and then again every 2 levels thereafter (up to 18th level), an alchemist makes an incredible alchemical discovery. Unless otherwise noted, an alchemist cannot select an individual discovery more than once. Some discoveries can only be made if the alchemist has met certain prerequisites first, such as uncovering other discoveries. Discoveries that modify bombs that are marked with an asterisk (*) do not stack. Only one such discovery can be applied to an individual bomb. The DC of any saving throw called for by a discovery is equal to 10 + 1/2 the alchemist's level + the alchemist's Intelligence modifier.
Feral Mutagen Discovery Whenever the alchemist imbibes a mutagen, he gains two claw attacks and a bite attack. These are primary attacks and are made using the alchemist’s full base attack bonus. The claw attacks deal 1d6 points of damage (1d4 if the alchemist is Small) and the bite attack deals 1d8 points of damage (1d6 if the alchemist is Small). While the mutagen is in effect, the alchemist gains a +2 competence bonus on Intimidate skill checks.
Poison Use(Ex) Alchemists are trained in the use of poison and starting at 2nd level, cannot accidentally poison themselves when applying poison to a weapon.
Beastform Mutagen At 3rd level, a beastmorph’s mutagen causes him to take on animalistic features—whether those of an animal, a magical beast, an animal-like humanoid (such as a lizardfolk), or a monstrous humanoid. For example, when the beastmorph uses his mutagen, he may gain a furry muzzle and pointed ears like a werewolf, scaly skin like a lizardfolk or sahuagin, or compound eyes and mandibles like a giant insect. The beastmorph also gains his choice of one of the abilities listed in the alter self spell(darkvision 60 feet, low-light vision, scent, and swim 30 feet.), which persists as long as the mutagen. He may select a different ability each time he creates a mutagen.
--------------------
RACE Racial Traits
--------------------
Favoured Class Bonus(+3HP) +1hp or +1 skill point or add one extract formula from the alchemist formula list to the character's formula book. This formula must be at least one level below the highest formula level the alchemist can create.
Bonus Feat Humans select one bonus feat at 1st level.
Silver Tongued Human are often adept at subtle manipulation and putting even sworn foes at ease. Humans with this trait gain a +2 bonus on Diplomacy and Bluff checks. In addition, when they use Diplomacy to shift a creature's attitude, they can shift up to three steps up rather than just two. This racial trait replaces skilled.
Daydreamer You always have your head in the clouds, and find it hard to pay attention. Penalty The character must make a DC 15 Will save to seriously listen to someone else talk. If the character fails the check, the GM should inform the player that the character’s mind drifted off and only got partial information (GM’s discretion as to what information the character actually picked up).

Looks like we are at 7 at this time so it is time to fire things up.

Movin: sorry about that.
Bobson: I like the Will o Wisp so my apologies

Here is the Character list as I have it now
This looks pretty good to start with

Zorryn The Outcast

Well, here's the rough draft of Xizor - the Will-o-wisp synthesist who always wanted to have a body. I'm picturing the eidolon as a glowing humanoid shape that forms around the glowing sphere which is Xizor - effectively an extension of a will-o-wisp's natural glow and ability to create patterns (they don't always look like a skull).

** spoiler omitted **...

I will rule that the claws will deliver the electric touch as well.

I await your order, my liege

Here is the thread for the Campaign

Campaign Thread

I ask those with characters essentially done post an intro, like a where they are just before the Lady of Linens reaches out to them to enlist them in her cause, sort of post. I do understand some are better at backstory than others. Just post what you are comfortable posting.

I ask you keep in mind that while I have been gaming and GMing since 1977, this is my first Online PBP in a long while and I might be a touch rusty, considering the variety and diversity of characters as well.

I look forward to the gaming and I thank thunderbeard for the initial inspiration that I have appropriated in this thread.

Urm Remnant what about my drow weretiger?
He is ready to go.

raise eyebrow So what program did you use to put your science experiment (zoryen) together? If you did that by hand from the srd I saltute your dedication.

So one vampire drow monk, one drow science experiment, A weretiger super drow ninja/monk?, A body hopper, a zerg, an illithid, a wisp with super powers, and an undead druid.
Huh.... alright. I would assume remenant is going to either just take us as is or is going to do a cut based on our intro posts.

I may drop one level of druid for inquisitor and become the party face if no one else would like to take the spot. Without much investment I could get sanriels social skills into the upper limits of our level and just trample such social stuff without much problem.
Dont want to do it if someone else would like to be the general talky person as without some wacky hijinks on others part sanriel with this combo would absolutely marginalize other social focused characters.
It would also mean I dont get L4 spells till next level which would make me very sad, but that balance between wanting it and not tells me it is at least a fair trade.

Well I took a blank template from another alias and edited from there. Yea it was a lot of work lol.

Zorryn will be passable socialwise from having good CHA. Not bothered about being the best though but he can contribute. Hoping to use dominate a bunch too so I don't need skyhigh skills there.

My Drow only has +11(+7 on diplo) on social skills, so if you like you can be the face. He could do it if needed, but prefers the bluff intimidate route.

Blank template, yikes.
Alright. So full investment into diplo/bluff I could have mods of +24 (+14stat/7ranks/classskill) and between magic items and other tricks could get 30ish in one or both depending.
Using speak with animals I can leverage that into basically making any form of wild life into our minions. Verminheart means I can do the same with vermin, siabrae means I can affect undead animals/vermin if they were animals for spells/effects.
So who wants an ever increasing horde of zombie bears?

Will also have massive stealth/perception/sense motive mods. Due to getting a boost thanks to siabrae.
Plus I have stumbled across the siabraes verson of a death attack. So I seem to have made an assassin/social butterfly out of a druid somehow.

Here is the character, need to do some shopping and feat+trait finalization.

Not to spoil the fun but don't you need 11 levels of druid for Siabrae?

Also not sure you can keep getting traits by adding more drawbacks for Zorryn

Thunderbeard was permitting liches and Siabrae in a "lesser" form and waiving the level limit.
Was a big reason as to why I sent a PM regarding my character rather than a block out here but remnant said I was cool concept wise. So thats where im going.
The lesser template for siabrae was something thunderbeard shot to me, ill send remnant a copy if it is desired.

It seems awesome :).

Thunderbeard wrote:
-2 traits + 1 per flaw (3 flaws max, flaws cannot have a negated effect)

From the original character creation. Though I assume flaw there refers to drawbacks(since flaws are worth feats). So I got three drawbacks that all affect me and could all stack to be rather annoying if I fail skill checks.

With those I have traits(all different types of traits I made sure) that give, 2 class skills, +2 init, +1 will and -5% cost to craft magic items (hello craft wondrous). Lots of fun. I will also be able to craft stuff for people eventually too.

@Clikk. So you don't have a class and just gain evolutions as you level(and eat things)? I like it.

@Zorry Pretty much! I'd say my 'class' is the unfettered Eidolon progression if anything(take a peek at the profile to see how that works if your curious), your character is an absolute BEAST by the way.

@ True repentance/ all vampires in general. it is a flat DC 20 sense motive check to discover that someone is dominated. If you have a way to reach it a high DC Charm Monster is absolutely superior when it comes to social situations. Its why the Lamia Matriarch and the Succubus are so damned scary, they can and will turn anyone you know against you with repeated castings of their at will SLA.

@Zorryn: Your template combination is terrifying. If we get that far it is going to really suck once you hit 5HD and the half fiend template eats another level of yours.

@Clikk: The warping horror concept is cool, hope that it works out in game.

@all: Then I'm going to build Sanriel with the inquisitor dip to ensure we have someone in the party to charm the pants off of the paladins we are sure to encounter.

@Remnant: Any idea what you would consider a fair cost to get permanency Speak with animals?

If we get that far yea, considering we start almost leveled it's only 1 and a bit levels away. I will be quite a few levels behind you all but that's fair because the templates are keeping me strong.

Interesting on the sense motive thing. Do they get an automatic check? Hope it's not lol. Question on dominated then. Do they ONLY do what I tell them to do? Or could I say, "Go about your day in the usual way and tell me everything you see when I get back tonight." That way I'm not making them do anything abnormal around others and only making them tell me stuff. Though how to disguise it so they don't know they are dominated?
Well hello there Staff of Charming. Except I'm an alchemist so I couldn't recharge it even if I could obtain one. hmmm.

PRD- sense motive excerpt wrote:

Sense Enchantment: You can tell that someone's behavior is being influenced by an enchantment effect even if that person isn't aware of it. The usual DC is 25, but if the target is dominated (see dominate person), the DC is only 15 because of the limited range of the target's activities.
PRD- Dominate person excerpt wrote:

If you and the subject have a common language, you can generally force the subject to perform as you desire, within the limits of its abilities. If no common language exists, you can communicate only basic commands, such as “Come here,” “Go there,” “Fight,” and “Stand still.” You know what the subject is experiencing, but you do not receive direct sensory input from it, nor can it communicate with you telepathically.

Once you have given a dominated creature a command, it continues to attempt to carry out that command to the exclusion of all other activities except those necessary for day-to-day survival (such as sleeping, eating, and so forth). Because of this limited range of activity, a Sense Motive check against DC 15 (rather than DC 25) can determine that the subject's behavior is being influenced by an enchantment effect (see the Sense Motive skill description).

Typically the skill is automatic. EX: opposing a bluff check

But I usually don;t give my players hunches or information about a person being dominated unless they ask for something close. I consider it the situational/emotional equivalent of searching for a trap.

Hopefully Remnant chimes in on it, but yeah Dominate person is an amazing spell for many situations but it is darn easy to spot if someone is actually looking for it.

Zorryn's character definitely looks killer, but why so many templates?

What other game do you think would take such a monster? He is not anywhere near as bad as it can get with this level of flexibility.
You should have seen the Nightmare Nymph that was pitched in the original thread, that thing was stupendously powerful.
I had been considering switching my character to a Lamia Matriarch honestly. We seem to be pretty heavy on supernatural shapeshifting horrors between the body hopper, the zerg, the were-tiger and the science experiment.
I like the Siabrae druid concept though so I'm going to stick with it for now. Hopefully all our dueling banjos strike a right fine harmony.

True, a lot of monsters can be quite powerful. I like the body hopper and the zerg concepts. I hope everyone can look a little human :P. I even got a hat of disguise just in case people frown upon Drow.

The Sense Motive DC for Dominate is only 15, but by the looks of it it takes about a minute to take the Sense Motive action ('typically').

Sense Motive:
Sense Enchantment: You can tell that someone's behavior is being influenced by an enchantment effect even if that person isn't aware of it. The usual DC is 25, but if the target is dominated (see dominate person), the DC is only 15 because of the limited range of the target's activities.

//

Trying to gain information with Sense Motive generally takes at least 1 minute, and you could spend a whole evening trying to get a sense of the people around you.

I'm going to find a name then hop into the intro thread : )

Edit: @Dread Vampire template - Oh, and notice that both Children of the Night and Change Shape works differently then the standard Vampires abilities. Way more freedom. My Vampire might be looking to advance towards that template somewhere in the future... =)

Clikk prefers the form of a little Drow girl(if not in her own true form) but can take the form of any medium/small humanoid so shes got the 'look like a 'human' part down.

The Siabrae idea is REALLY cool, never had a chance to take a look at it until it was brought up here and it looks really neat, might need to play with that template in some of my offline games... *cackles maniacally*

@Lessah yeah the Dread vampire is really cool, one of the better third party templates I've seen. Though the blind sense seems a bit contrived, would have been cooler for them to have a blood sense or something.

@ Clikk- Yeah the Siabrae is an awesome Template. Though it is unfortunately much more niche in its flavor than the Lich. Undead druids require a good chunk of lead up, where as undead wizards are just a natural extension of living wizards.
But then a Lich dies in lava where as a Siabrae swims through it. Trade-offs.

They do have ordinary scent atleast : )

This thing is what i kind of look like... only more legs and hidden wings

I think that people are getting away from the original... power level...

if you have a +2 template, it is covered by the 'bonus levels' for race. anything more cuts into your 'actual levels'

Hence a lot of people starting below level 7 - if I read their posts right : )

-Starting level 6, plus two "bonus levels" that can be spent on races or templates

how did anyone start at level 7?

By following the guidlines :P

Which are cleverly hidden here as stated here.

edit: This may explain why you felt like everyone else just kept pouring templates and stuff unto their characters ... : )

It also explains why I was staring in bewilderment as everyone's character could eat my character without ever having to use their dominant hand :P

I'll edit Ckkxxchtki.

Thank you.

No problem : )

Ckkxx is a zeeerg awesome, I avoided templates since they cut into my evolution and unless I wrote in a specific 'Clikk eats a dragon/demon/ext' most would not make sense.

I actually got the body build/anatomy from the zerg drone

You might get that opportunity Clikk :P.
