Bearded Devil (Why So Serious?)

What happened to the bearded devil's "battle frenzy"? Is there a reason why they lost their rage ability in the transition from D&D 3.5?

There ya go. It's the same mechanical effect (almost!) but simpler, and to be honest, as long as it's relatively balanced, I regard a simpler monster as a better monster.
