Full Attack Q

Rules Questions

Should be an easy Q... if a monsters attack reads as follows:

Longsword +4 (1d8+2), 2 Claws +4 (1d4+2)

What does the comma mean? One or the other? Both?

Thanks!

The comma is just a separator. In this (very odd) case, the creature gets 3 attacks on a full attack. If it was either/or it would say longsword +4 (1d8+2) or 2 claws (+4) 1d4+2.

Thank you, sire!

Out of curiosity, is that a real monster entry, or something you made up?

It is the attack of a real monster but with a different type of weapon and damage amount. Didn't want to spoil it as I'm running it later today.

Oh and, in the interest of thread conservation, if you have DR10/evil does that reduce the damage of ALL attacks from any non-evil creatures? Spells included?

Damage reduction only applies to weapon attacks, unarmed strikes, or natural attacks.

Also worth pointing out that DR/Evil is only overcome by creatures that have the [Evil] subtype or unholy weapons (more generally, any attack that the DR would normally reduce that has the [Evil] descriptor). Evil aligned creatures won't overcome it.

In case you're wondering why people find it odd, most creatures that have claws and can wield a longsword have only two arms, so their monster stat block would be "longsword +4 (1d8+2) or 2 claws +4 (1d4+2)", which would mean that the monster must choose. To have the statblock you mention, the monster would have to have three or more arms.
