By his logic, I can say that all of Harlem is homophobic because of this guy. I choose not to.

Well if you read the article you really couldn't say that all of Harlem is homophobic because pretty much EVERYONE else interviewed there is speaking out about how that preacher was WRONG.

But that's if you actually read the article and not just pulled it out to prove a point.

There we go....

Sorry man. I thought we were back to talking about comics and movies again and then...well you know...

I don't drink coffee by the way. But I appreciate the gesture.

I was kidding around saying that I was getting extra foam from your diatribe... But its not funny if I have to explain it.

Also, he doesnt need to look like a buff huge guy in human form. All he needs is to be able to pull off THE VOICE when he's in Thing form. Beyond that? I dont care what he looks like as a human. I'm there to see the Thing and hear him say "IT'S CLOBBERING TIME!!!!".

Problem being that necessitates ANOTHER background change.

Sorry, I just don't see this scrawny British guy as a football star and fighter pilot.

To an extent I agree. I have no idea of that guy's actual body type or frame. I mean he could bulk up? Chris Helmsworth isnt always that buff between roles. Also Christian Bale between his roles in The Machinist (120lbs?) and Batman Begins(220lbs). I mean that COULDNT have been healthy but it can be done.

Totally misinterpreted that one.

I am thinking they are probably going to pull a "Hulk" route, and do The Thing as entirely CGI. Which would also give Fox there own "Hulk" character.

Is it just me or is Shin acting more and more like a cartoon? I mean like when Family Guy or South Park want to be very offensive by making a super racist african american guy that sees everything as racism, kind of cartoon.
Shin, dude, chill. Take a deep breath, walk away rom the thread until you're calm again. Being the stereotype you're trying to fight is the definition of a pointless battle.

Someone will have to help me out -- I never read any comics, so my views are colored by old TV cartoons and such.

My impression was that the Fantastic Four consisted of a genius Mr. Stretch guy, his friend the Smashy Rock-Guy, and his wife who can turn invisible. And the wife's athletic but immature and fairly dumb kid brother as a sidekick.

In the movie, the immature, dumb sidekick is the only African-American.

Please, please tell me I have this all wrong.

Nope. You're time on target.

I think they should have made Reed Richards the black guy, just to piss off all the bigots.

Nope, you pretty much hit the nail on the head.
