Question On Wizards Shift Ability

Rules Questions

Hi all, this may seem like a silly question with a simple answer that I have miss so sorry if it is haha.

Does the Wizard with the Conjuration/Teleportation school's Shift ability use a verbal component to activate?

It says "as if using dimension door" which would lead me to believe it uses a verbal component, however I didn't know if being a swift action or a supernatural ability would change that.

Thank you.

Despite replicating the effects of a spell, it is not a spell and thus not subject to the same rules. Supernatural abilities do not have Components, be they material, verbal, or somatic unless it specifically says they do (not sure if any do, but hedging my bets there).

Ok, unfortunately for me a part of me knew that haha.

Thank you for a quick response :)

Also be aware that as a supernatural ability using it does not provoke an opportunity attack and it never requires a concentration check. Its just the best way to get out of inconvenient grapples.

With it being a supernatural natural ability I wonder if it would be affected by Dimensional Anchor, Dimensional Lock, or something like the Tetori's Inescapable Grasp?

As it says, at least under DImensional Lock, that extradimensional travel into or out of the area is not possible, I would assume that would trump the list of neutralized spells and spell-like abilities to include supernatural abilities that also allowed dimensional travel.

The Teleportation Conjurer Shift ability says, "1st level, you can teleport to a nearby space as a swift action as if using dimension door." Does that mean you can't take any other actions after using this ability?

That is correct. Once you spend a swift action to shift your turn ends.
