Well, this wasn't quite the best way to wake up in the morning, but it definitely jolted the drowsiness out of me.
Farewell, Sean. You and your willingness to post on the forums were one of the reasons I got so interested in the rules of the game, and why I started to keep my list to help others. I figured you couldn't be around to help everyone, so may as well point people in the right direction. Up there with Owen K.C. Stephens, you were one of my heroes of d20 that I wanted to meet and work with. I'm glad that before you left, I was able to accomplish both of those goals (although I still need to track down Owen....slippery fellow.)
Best of luck, and I'm sure we'll still see you around!

Sean, I've been following and enjoying your work since Wizards of the Coast (Ghostwalk!), through the Sean K Reynolds Games days (New Argonauts and Anger of Angels!), and into Paizo (all the things!)
Good luck to you and Jodi in Indiana, and I'm sure wherever you go, you'll be producing awesome stuff for our games as a freelancer (and I dearly hope Paizo can get you to continue writing those deity articles--they are amazing)

Wow. This almost seems like an end of an era. Above and beyond his Paizo work, which I've enjoyed, Sean has been as active and visible a part of the online RPG community since there *was* an online RPG community. I still remember how he tried- often in vain- to weather the slings and arrows of discordant shots at "T$R"; his valiant efforts and straight talk during the troubled, waning years of our first big fantasy roleplaying game company were always polarizing- you either hated him, or loved him- and it is a stigma that seemingly followed him throughout his career there and with WotC, and even here with Paizo.
(I've often wondered whether that was just a holdover from people who felt snubbed by him then and never got over it, or if it was just one of those things that even those newer members of the community either just liked or didn't like.)
In any event, Sean- you will be missed. I envy you your decision to move to the country. It's a move I've been considering for several years now myself, but haven't been able to pull the trigger on (and wouldn't be going back to Indiana in any event, just because I've been there, done that already and don't usually look back. It is a beautiful place in many ways, and a good place to raise a family, if you're so inclined. I do still miss Bloomington, and sometimes wish I'd stayed there and finished school instead of transferring to ASU.)
Best of luck, and thanks for all the years of contributions to this greatest of hobbies of ours!

Oh damn. D:
Best of luck on your future endeavors and hopefully being in Indiana means an ensured Gencon presence. :)
On a partially selfish note, I really really hope that "help on future books" includes god articles. Those have tended to be the first things I've read in each book that had them, going all the way back to the Desna one. :)

I wish Sean all the very best and it is commendable that he is willing to help Jodi achieve her hopes and dreams. I have known him for a few years now but that alone speaks to his character.
My thoughts also go the rest of the Paizo Staff. Sean *IS* their very good friend and he will be missed.
For those who never got the opportunity to work with him directly, he is a very kind man and an excellent teacher. If he ever spoke frankly, it is because that is necessary to instruct. The truth is he is a very good person who does his best to bring out the best in whoever he works with.
I'll miss his official role in this community but I look forward to his freelance contributions and 3PP offerings.

Good luck in Indiana, whatever you decide to do. It'll be weird not having you around.
Yup, pretty much my take also.
I know he wrote that it's all amicable and such but I wonder if there isn't something coming on the horizon that he didn't want to stick around for, like a new edition of Pathfinder getting ready to start being designed and he didn't like or want to be part of the direction it is looking at taking.

After drying my eyes, I selfishly asked the same thing about the deity articles. :)

Sean is an awesome designer, and generally a really cool person. Some of his charity work (like Hungry Little Monsters) was just incredible.
While he may have been a little abrasive, I can tell you that spending a major part of your time discussing this game on the forums can strain anyone's patience, and I'm very happy he's been here.
Good bye Sean, and good luck!

Yeah, sad day. I've shared a team and office with Sean for a while now, and he will be missed. Good luck with the new chapter, Sean and Jodi! Remember you always have people (including long-haired freaks) who love you.
Make the next chapter the best, you two!
Anti-Paladin love is the worst love though.

Sean is a very cool guy and I wish him and Jodi all the best in their future endeavours.
Also, now that he'll no longer be directly associated with Paizo in an official capacity, we can see him post what he really thinks of people on the boards ;)
LOL, I'm sure he'd have glowing words for me :P
Seriously, I hope they do well, law school doesn't suck out Jodi's soul and they can make it to Origins so I can actually meet him. (Yes, I'm self centred, why?)
