large spider venom laced weapons

Advice

I have 2 large spider venom sacks, how would I go about lacing My arrows/weapons with the venom? Can I just pour it into my Quiver?

You would need to use alchemy to craft it into a usable poison. Since you have the venom sacs it is reasonable to remove/reduce the cost.

So the venom is harmless without using alchemy?

I wouldn't say so, but the poison might not be ready to use from the glands anyway:

- For one, the spider injects the poison into you with its bite. This allows for a larger dose than your average arrow tip. Concentration might well be needed to make it effective as an injury based poison.

- Secondly, in venom production there is a risk of contaminating the samples. While this is more an issue in antitoxin production than poison production, simply opening the sacs into your quiver, og stabbing arrows into it, might very result into arrows covered in poison, blood and pieces of flesh, that is going to stick together, and probably be unsuitable for attacking.

Lastly, making a poison from the raw materials, ready to use with on a weapon, is exactly what the Alchemy check is for. No matter what the process is, handling it correctly, to make a function poison from the (no doubt toxin) venom sacs, is covered by the check.

What Harald said.

Besides what's been said: The venom has to be sticky to remain on the arrow tip. If you dip an arrow into water and shoot it most of the water will fly off making the arrow tip nearly dry when it hits.
This problem, too is handled by the craft alchemy check.
