Weapon focus question

Rules Questions

Hellos~

This is a feat I rarely get (usually ended up as a caster). so I was wondering. Is the focus just on weapons listed in the fighter's weapon groupings?

or could I have something like "alchemical weapons" with it applying to splash weapons, and offensive alchemical weapons (say the grenades, tanglefoot bombs, Liquid Blade)

I'm curious on ways to up them. Although seeing as I see no way to pull them quickly (move action to get, standard to use) not that useful anyway.

You can get it with tons of different stuff. Weird stuff includes

Melee Touch
Ranged Touch
Bombs
Splash weapons(Though you may need to get one for the specific alchemical weapon)

Also the Firebug trait might be something you're looking into. Gives you a +1 trait bonus on all splash weapons and alchemist bombs.

Ooh. that trait looks tasty..

Yeah in general, I'm looking at alchemical weapons I love them, even if not that effective at the level i am.

Though if I coudl quick draw them they would be useful again but I can not see a way to do that (probably will ask GM soon about house ruling quickdraw)

I can see the danger of throwing a crapton of tangleburn out in one round..but its not much different than the proper bomb discovery..

If you have a certain damaging class feature that requires an attack roll you can use weapon focus for it(i.e. in 3.5 there was the warlock class that and Eldritch Blast as a ranged touch attack, it could be weapon focused.)

Liquid blade says you treat it as a short sword, so weapon focus short sword would work.

Weapon Focus is a specific weapon.

So Weapon Focus Longsword.

I think you can also do Weapon Focus Ray, but you can't do Weapon Focus Fighter Weapon Group.

Could you find me where the rules state that? As far as I recall "Ranged Spell" and "Touch Spell" for Weapon Focus never made it out of Complete Arcane and into pathfinder. Thought the best you could do was "Ray".
