Is there a magic item or spell that will give you the Precise Shot feat?

Advice

Liberty's Edge

It's starting to become an issue for my sorcerer's ranged touch attacks. Just wondering if there's a quick way to get Precise Shot since I can't afford two feats. Thanks.

I'm kind of surprised ... touch AC is the only defense that tends to scale down instead of up as you advance in levels.

That said, I'm not aware of such an item; there was a +1 weapon enchantment in 3.X D&D that did it, but only for the weapon it was on.

But, since you can make a magic item that does just about anything in this game, hash it out with your GM.

Isn't there an ioun stone that gives you a bonus feat?

Edit: There are several ioun stones that grant specific feats (Endurance, Alertness etc) but Precise Shot is not available - ask your GM if you can design your own ioun stone that grants Precise Shot? It would probably cost somewhere between 10 000 and 15 000 GP.

No. If it did exist, I personally wouldn't allow it as a GM. I despise items that give you feats and class features for free.

They're not "free". If they exist, it's a significant investment in your assumed wealth. For the cost of a +3 weapon, you get a feat.

I see it the other way. Feats and class features are a way of NOT using magic to do something.

That being said, run your games as you see fit.

Yea! Gosh darn +2 weapons! That's like 3 feats!!! Weapons Focus, Weapon Specialization, AND Greater Weapon Focus! That's so stupid! I can't believe they make items which give away feats for free!

Eh, I'm not wildly keen on precedent for items that grant feats myself - 10k seems like a hefty price but when you consider the WBL of the high levels... A 17th level character could buy a "ioun stone of Craft Wondrous Items" and throw together another 19 "ioun stones of x", picking up 20 feats for about 25% of his WBL. Without the crafting option he can still buy a feat for about 2.5% of his WBL.

After level 8 a sorcerer will actually save money by buying Ioun Stones of Expanded Arcana (10k gp, 2x 3rd level spells) instead of Pages (2x 9k gp for 2x 3rd level spells) of Spell Knowledge.

The difference between a +3 sword and a +3 keen sword is 14k, so you can buy an ioun stone of Improved Critical and save yourself 4k.

This is the first things that came to mind, I'm sure there are many others.

Still, there is precedent in the rules for items that grant feats - it seems fair to at least point out the option to OP and let him decide with his GM whether or not it's a good option and something they want to add to their game.

I do think it's funny that people have no problem with giving away martial/combat feats, but add in something like the 'Craft' feats, and suddenly they're against it, or vastly overpricing it.

Guess relative value shows its head in other ways, eh?

Scarab Sages

Classic items that give feats or better than feat equivalents:

Keen weapon (Improved Critical)
Eye of the Eagle (Awareness)
Boots of Elvenkind (Skill focus)
Cloak of Elvenkind (Skill Focus)
Bracers of Archery (Weapon Focus, Greater Weapon Focus, and 1/2 of Weapon Spec.)
Ring of Evasion - This one is a class feature.

These are in the game and should be in the game. But I don't think a feat that you gain access to from an ioun stone should count as having the feat for prerequisite purposes.

I'll have to take your word for it - I don't think I've ever seen anyone object to wizards getting crafting bonus feats, for instance. The power level of the wizard spell list yes, but never specifically the bonus feats.

If your sorcerer is a Half-Elf, you can cast Paragon Surge and get any feat you want, and a handy +2 DEX bonus along with it. You have to meet the prereqs, though, so you'd still have to take Point-Blank Shot the hard way.

Sovereign Court

Guessing you arent lucky enough to have a divine hunter in your party granting improved precise shot to everybody.

You can most certainly afford two feats. You just have to choose what you're willing to not to take instead.

Manual of War (7,500g) allows Fighters to pick up Precise Shot as a bonus feat (by temporarily replacing one of their other bonus feats).

True Strike

At high level, true strike + spell perfection + quicken spell means you never really miss ever, ever.

I know this May not answer your question and as a sorcerer you are limited in the number of spells you can know but usually if you are missing touch AC it means the opponent in question is particularly dex heavy. For dex heavy opponents I recommend having at least one direct targeted spell that goes off fortitude or will (pref fort) on hand.
