I would have to use this item every night for over 12 years before it was cheaper than just buying the mundane item it's supposed to replace.

Hint to contestants. Think about the verb associated with your item. You want something that evokes excitement and action.
If I associate your item with the verbs: "Nap, sleep, rest or resting-my-eyes-for-a-bit" then you haven't made an exciting item.
Additionally if I associate your item with the verbs: "Vomit, heave, ralph, barf or hurl" then you haven't made a great item, you've made me nauseous.
Verbs, they're what you're doing.

My sanity is grateful that there are actually a fair portion of pretty decent items out there. Lots of "good enough for a book of magic items" and even a couple of Top 32 contenders already.

Direct ripoff of 3.5 item.Unless I see similar phrasing, I'd give it the benefit of the doubt. This game has a long history and people can't be familiar with every item since 3.5.
It was a camping item to boot so I would have downvoted it anyway.

I've yet to see another item similar in form or function to mine, which causes me to be either all "I am a unique snowflake of design prowess!" or alternatively "oh my gawd I did something wrong why is everyone else sticking together over there...". Too much coffee probably.

Hmm...an item that makes your Xxxx/Xxxx multiclass character that much more optimized. Yes, that'll win for sure.
