Infiltrator archetype Ranger, and, specifically, Animal Companions

Rules Questions

Liberty's Edge

When I read the Hunters Bond class feature for the Ranger, it said that the Rangers Animal Companion shared his Favored Enemy and his Favored Terrain bonuses with his AC. If you have Adaptation instead of Favored Terrain, would your AC gain your Adaptation bonus, or are you just out of luck?

FAQ

Since adaptation is not simply a reflavoring or limitation of favored terrain, your animal companion would not gain the use of adaptations. The ranger traded that away as part of taking the archetype.

On the bright side, they issued errata so that camouflage and hide in plain sight work any time you use an adaptation.
