Taking a look at the Gamer Connection board is a good start, as well as making a post on there.

My current pathfinder group was formed by creating a meet up to look for players. When we got 6 we shut the meet up down.

Same. Funnily enough Meetup hates some email servers and I had to use a secondary account that doesn't use my real name. :D The group was small and dwindled, and I ended up taking two players to my other group, pretty much permanently.
Try to leave a message at your local gamer store. Sort of a flyer. With your name, age and your favorite systems, mail or phone number.
Search the web for forums like this and ask for players in your region.
Good luck i know how hard it could be to find players.
I saw someone leave a message at my FLGS but unfortunately every time I go there I have too many players. Right now my group is 6 players and I usually get 5 per game, which is more than enough.
