Advice

Hello guys we are starting sort of "avatar's style" campaign.

The DM has created all the bender as 4 different classes but we can also use:

Barbarian (prohibited rage powers: celestial totem, caos totem, dragon totem, fiend totem, perfect clarity, world serpent totem). All powers that targets or influences spell or spellcaster function againts benders and forms.
Fighter
Monk with the Martial Artist Archetype
Ranger with Skirmisher or Trapper Archetypes
Rogue that can choose ninja trick (but cannot choose one that give ki pool or spell-like abilities)
Samurai
Prestige Class:
Assassin (repleace the True Death class feature with a rogue talent, and Angel of Death with an advanced rogue talent)
Duelist
Deep Sea Pirate
Group Leader
Guild Poisoner
Student of War
Swordlord
Stalwart Defender.

Usually i go for arcane PC, but this time i want to use the brute one.

So i want go for a samurai and i nedd some advice. I can chose only human for race and i 20 point for ability scores, we are lv 7. Only paizo allowed. I don't know what my friends'll chose.

I'd like to play a intimidating PC with a bit of battlefiled control.

STR Ranger had a pretty good intimidating-focused build.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I might also recommend the Sword Saint Archetype. You give up your mount & banner, which is circumstantial at best, but in exchange you get some cool de-buffs and extra. Keep in mind the ability works best as a Surprise round type thing since it's otherwise mechanically hard to pull off(so keep high Init if you can).

Surprise Round:
Intimidate & Challenge

Round 1:
Iaijutsu Strike(Full Round) W/ Power Attack

If you do it right, you can OTK a foe with a Keen Weapon since your Challenge damage crits too, and the extra precision damage is just gravy. Or at least this is what a player in my game is doing.
