The UNC council has decided that it is no longer in our benefit to have our policies transparent, and open for discussion with non members and on the Paizo Forums.
I had falsely believed that if the community knew exactly what we were proposing and how we envisioned doing them, they would see the rationale and meaningfulness of our intentions. Instead those with their own agenda to besmirch our reputation used our honesty and openness against us. Twisting our every word, questioning ever statement as if they were unclear, and flagging any response where they were challenged for their own negative behavior. Our openness had provided opportunity after opportunity for baiting and trolling, and that demonstrates that this community is not significantly different than any other MMO message board.
For those that approached our policy thread with genuine interest and legitimate questions, I am sorry that we can no longer allow for that kind of discussion. For those that have supported us, especially on the forums as well as those in PMs, we appreciate your support. We will continue to support you should you need our voices
As for the Roseblood Accord, we withdraw from it as long as one of its founding companies remains one of its signatories. This company has a few members, particularly two of its Stewards, that do not live up to the principles of what we consider to be meaningful interaction. The moderator of the Paizo forums clearly labeled their posts as "deliberately antagonizing", and as long as these two are signatories, we will not risk our reputation by including ourselves in any association with them. Her suggestion was to not reply to deliberately antagonizing posts and to flag them. This brings me to our next change in policy
It was not my personal inclination, nor our company's norm to flag posts, even those that we found inflammatory or offensive. Apparently those that have been harassing UNC members in various threads have not been as reluctant to flag any post that had even a slightly negative "tone". Using the terminology of the moderator's notice to me, our policy will mirror her advice. Any posts that we find to be of a negative tone or an example of deliberate antagonism, or as dismissive or condescending, those posts will be flagged.
As for our pledge to positive game play, that remains largely unchanged:
"Positive Game Play" is a pledge as a player to play within the rules and mechanics of the game. Additionally, it is a pledge to not unduly prey upon the new player, at the risk of spoiling their new found experience within the game. It is a pledge to not bring about frustration, just for the laughs. It is a pledge to make every attempt to have our interactions viewed as meaningful and hopefully entertaining for both friend and foe alike.
We will not openly discuss our policies on the Paizo forums in the future. If any ally; ambassador of a neutral company / settlement; or a respected foe requests clarification of our activities, we have an Ambassador's Forum section on our Home Page. There at least we can deal with deliberate antagonism as we see fit. It will also provide those with good intentions the opportunity to interact with the UNC in a more meaningful way.
For those reasons we will internalize our policy discussions within our own membership and with those seeking more meaningful clarifications. I will request that this thread be locked.

I got that slap on the wrist from Paizo too, hard to tell which exactly is the comments being referenced but whatevers. I guess here is as good as anyplace to make sure that UNC understands all the tit for tat on my part is part of the game in all its forms and any threatening language was of course against your characters and not yourselves.
I am still and always have been a semi closet fan of the UNC and enjoy having you as rivals in and out of game.

We've seen others saying similar things, and I'll make the same request here--a request aimed at everyone--that others have made in the past: if you think that's the way you're writing a post, could you please be beyond explicit that's your intent?
There are many ways to wordsmith and honour that request, but even a simple [in-character] tag, perhaps also using an alias created for the purpose, might suffice to drain away some of the non-sensical, brutal, and incredibly stupid vitriol people have thrown at one another throughout these boards. There's literally no excuse to use the kind of invective we've seen--and the ridiculous, counter-productive nit-picking besides--*unless* it's aimed at a character, and even then there are far better ways to engage.

Your statements in other locations would beg to differ. Let the information be free.

Well Wexel, we could use a new diplomat to Aragon. Ready to take the shittiest post we have to offer?

Wexel was a good choice to be T7V diplomat to Aragon and UNC. He genuinely wants to believe you guys are not as bad as your image entails. Barring certain members of UNC, I think as a whole you guys will be vital for PFO and are not that bad of a bunch.
As Wexel has made some good contacts within UNC that he will probably enjoy playing with. So have I. So I know as a whole you guys are alright.

* Edit: To the Magpie
I don't know who your are, nor care to know. The UNC has always been able to defend our own, and without having to pull messages from other forums. One of your posts has already been deleted for the same reason, and I'm flagging this one.

LOL, jokes on you. That was a running gag that I had with Bluddwolf and the UNC from the days when I was the diplomat to them.

Perhaps this could be a lesson for you Magpie. Context is important.

If only looking at the content of this thread, I'd assume the Unnamed Company was a law firm, indecisive about it's name plate. Are you guys lawyers or mercenaries? :D
We are mercenary in our practices and as amoral as lawyers.
After playing for several weeks in PFO Alpha, we recognize that the niche we have developed over the past 2 years is still much needed.
We will not be waiting for PvP systems to be put in place, to protect against reputation loss. Rather, we will be selective of our times and targets and plan out our terms of non training to not hinder our characters' skill growth.
Due to the fact that there is a significant time period which we have to dedicate to grinding mobs for achievements, there will be extended lulls in training anyway. When these lulls arise, there is nothing to lose by disregarding the reputation period (at least when the return is potentially very profitable or fun).

...there is nothing to lose by disregarding the reputation period...
Until they slow down the Reputation-gain rate to its final state, 12 seconds per point isn't incredibly punishing. At that rate, perhaps you won't suffer too badly while researching and developing tactics and strategies.

By my estimation, based on actual play, it takes longer to reach some of the achievements than it takes to recover reputation (even if reputation recovered significantly slower than it does now).
Then there is the reality that once you hit -7500, you might as well take full advantage of it and turn it into a spree for a few days.
As Kobold Cleaver eluded to, we in the UNC are looking to play the role of bandits with the "Damn the torpedoes" attitude. And to be brutally honest, without this playstyle choice PFO presents us with little else of interest. PvE Grinding... Meh! Escalations... Meh! Crafting.... Meh! Arena style PvP....Meh! Consensual PvP... Meh!

Did Alpha 8.2 fix the bug where the minimum displayed Reputation was -7500, but the actual, invisible, minimum was somewhere below that? If we're still waiting for that fix, please warn your members to take it into account.

The game does need bandits, and it's good to get cracking early. EE is not meant to be a "grace period".
Seems to me with the amount of valuables crafters need to hold just to do the job, the way the craft interface completeley blinds the crafter to the outside world including presumably any hitpoints he is losing (bank and AH do the same thing) - combined with the ease with which you can stealth past Thornguard into towns - there is plenty of scope for creative banditry :D

Okay, here's a hint—her name is Bella Swan.
