What in particular would you buy to make up for a fighters shortcommings ?
Keep in Mind basic staple
+10 equiv armor 100+k
+10 equiv weapon 200+k
feel free to not list every item you'd buy and just the key item which you'd consider a must have.
basical stuff on consideration
Belt +6 STR + CON
Headband +6 WIS
amulet nat armor +5
ring protection +5
ring of regeneration
robe of resistence +5
boots of freedom of movement
handy haversack with a crapload of potions
what would you get for the magically challenged fighter?

Two immovable rods (great replacement for "fly" :P ) or just a cloak of the bat (or whatever the "gives you flying" cloak was).
I'm a fan of the "miscellaneous utility items" approach, myself. I'd pick up all sorts of things, like a feather token (whip) to help with battlefield control, some kind of once/day teleport item for travel, etc. The haversack helps manage the breadth of limited-use items I'd keep on hand, so that's a must.

What else would be banned? Are we talking only Core material or can we take from like the Magic Item Compendium?
anything which piazo publishes is ok no question. you can post 3rd party stuff if you want, just list it as such.
This thread was intended to be more about items and less about feats/builds/companions

heheh imovable rod very handy :)
don't know if I'd trade +5 to saves for the ability to fly, I mean you can jsut keep a bunch of fly potion on hand or a broom of flying, flying carpet etc

The point of making it a cloak was to make sure you didn't have to spend an action on retrieving the item that does it, which can easily leave you unable to keep up with a flying critter.
You can always have both properties on the same cloak by tossing +50% on the cheaper property (+5 resist only costs 25k, so only +12.5k which is not much for a 20th level fighter)."I'm Batman." - Fighter with cloak of flight.

Sadly, the Cloak of the Bat is deficient as a flight device. The limited time of flight isn't too bad, but you have to hold the edges of the garment to fly. Huh? No aerial combat with that device, sorry, barring kicks and bites. Wings of Flying are what you want.

You have the basics pretty much down, some fun things to try are using a Hand of Glory to gain an extra ring slot, a Ring of Blinking is good, for permanent 50% miss chance, or perhaps a Ring of Freedom of Movement to open up your boots for Haste. A Luckstone and a pale green Ioun stone for +2 to saves and +1 to everything else is nice. A Tome of Gainful Exercise +5 is pretty well a necessity.

I would go for a ring of spell turning over a ring of regeneration.
You could also afford a fairly complete set of Ioun stones. The lavender ellipsoid spell absorbing one for 40k is pretty nice, and its always good to not have to breath, and to have a +1 bonus to attacks, saves, ac, etc..
Everyone can use a robe of eyes. Note that a robe uses a different slot than a clock, so you can have a robe of eyes, and the necessary cloak of resistance +5. In fact, though it seems rather sweaty to me, you can wear armor, vest/shirt, cloak, and robe.

Nice picture. But I would not want to be dressed like that during the summer in Texas.

Unfortunately, this isn't true. Robes take up the same slot as armor does.

Armour takes up the armour slot. Robes take up the body slot (along with vestments).

... wow, yet another absolutely strange change to the magic item slots. You're right; I retract my statement.

Actually that at least dates from 3.5 Check the Heroforge sheets and you'll see.

No, it doesn't. Even the Magic Item Compendium lists the "body" slot as "armor, robes". This is a pure Pathfinder change.
Note that I'm not saying it's a bad change; I havn't done enough thinking about it to say one way or the other. It's just odd, like making circlets and headbands occupy two different slots on the body.
