Having only recently entered into Pathfinder, I've been looking at the Tales and getting a little more into the mythology that surrounds the game.
When I played DnD I got heavily into the Forgotten Realms and DragonLance settings and those were my favorites by far.
So I guess my question is, what do you all think is a good starting point for reading the novels? Is there a such thing as a good first book or should I just grab one off the shelf and run with it?
Thanks

You should be able to start with just about any of the novels. I'd suggest reading the back-cover copy and deciding which best suits your tastes.
But since you asked, of those I've worked on I'd suggest Winter Witch or Queen of Thorns. To me, those two feel like great portals for Forgotten Realms or Dragonlance readers to enter Golarion.
Rather than risk offending those I don't mention by recommending some of my favorites, I'll leave it to the other Pathfinder Tales writers to flog their books to you.

I would suggest reading some of the Free Web Fiction many of these feature characters that the authors feature in the books that come out at the same time, so if you like the short story, you can look into the author's books
