Multiple characters on one mount

Lantern Lodge

Hey!

I'm planning an encounter for my group involving jungle goblins. I want to know if there's anywhere that says that multiple characters on a single mount.

In this case: 3 small characters(Goblins) on a huge animal (Elephant).

Think Lord of the Ring, during the siege of Minas Tirith :)

Sounds legit to me! I don't recall seeing anything about multiple characters on a mount, but I could imagine it would work exactly the same as if it was just one character. They would all have to agree to go in the same direction with the mount of course... since it could still only move once per turn.

Sounds hillarious!

Or even one horse carrying two humans. The one in front has a lance. the one in the back has a bow. It probably works, although the horse might be slower.

I would define a rider. The rider can do everything that is possible with mounted combat rules, rolls ride checks, moves the mount etc. The others on the mount can attack or cast spells but are limited due to mounted combat (only a standard action if the mount moves more than 5ft, concentration checks etc)

If the mount is really huge you can handle it like a vehicle. There is one driver of the vehicle and the rest can move/act in the way they want. Lets say the goblins ride on a whale .. i would handle the whale as a 'ship'.
