Goblin Urban Barbarian

Advice

So I'm new to the forum and posting this to get some help. Our game just hit a snag, well a technical TPK where all of our characters except one were knocked out and one actual death. Or GM told us to make up our rescue party using Lvl 7, 25-point build, and 23,500gp.

I've decided to go with making a DEX based Goblin Barbarian and I'm trying to figure out the best build for it.

So far, here is what I've got.

Level 7 Goblin Urban Barbarian/Totem Master

HP: 98

My stats:
STR: 10 (2 pts)
DEX: 22 (13 pts for 17, +1 stat for level 4, and +4 for Racial)
CON: 14 (5 pts)
INT: 12 (2 pts)
WIS: 12 (2 pts)
CHA: 9 (1 pt)

I've also swapped out Skilled from the Racial with Hard Head, Big Teeth to give myself a bite.

Feats and Rage Powers:
1: F: Weapon Finesse
2: RP: Supersticious
3: F: Exotic Weapon Proficiency - Wakizashi
4: RP: Witch Hunter
5: F: Roll with It
6: RP: Lesser Beast Totem or No Escape
7: F: Vital Strike

Magic Items:
Belt of Incredible Dex +2
Snakeskin Tunic (+2 Dex, +1 AC, +2 save vs Poisons)
Cap of Human Guise
Agile Furious Wakizashi

Traits:
Adopted: Gnome Animal Friend

I'm kind of at a loss on Traits, Feats, and Rage Powers: Any suggestions

Sznek is level 5 Urban Natural weapon Barbarian, look here for ideas. Natural weapons is nice for Barbarian and very nice for Goblin because amulet of agile mighty fists is nice and cheap.

Dervish dance would give you your dex bonus on damage with a scimitar wielded 1 handed. Then pursue a critical feat chain would be my choice.

1) It is a rescue party so does it matter that much?

2) An agile furious wakizashi would have to be a +1 agile furious Wakizashi because you have to make your weapon a +1 enhancement before you add agile and furious. Thus, the item would cost 18K. I don't think you can afford that and the other stuff you have at 7th level.

3) A Wakizasha must be a great weapon to spend a feat to get proficiency with it. I cannot find the specs on the weapon. Short of it being spectacular, I would say use a weapon you are already proficient with and get another feat.

4) I am not familiar with Roll with it. Could you copy and paste the text?

5) Vital Strike is horrible for this build.

6) What is a Totem Master? By the way, most optimizers go Urban/Invulnerable

7) If I were making a goblin barbarian who specialized in one weapon, I would start off with 1 level of bard (dervish of the dawn). You would get proficiency with a Scimitar and dervish dance for free. So, from first level you would do dexterity damage with your scimitar. This also means you would not have to spend money to make your weapon agile or have to spend a feat to get weapon finesse. Furthermore, you would do an extra +2 damage from inspire courage. Last, you get spells and can cast bard spells through wands (cure light wounds is most important)

Bard spells I would pick up are Feather Step (all melee fighters should have away around difficult terrain) and Liberating Command (of course this means you will need to max Escape Artist) because being grappled stinks.

After that, I would go all urban barbarian/invulnerable. Lesser beast totem + putting the claws on your feet is great (some GMs cannot stomach the thought of claws on the feat, however). Either way, lesser beast totem still gives you the natural armor bonus.

Rage Power Guarded Stance works for this high AC build.

Rage Powers Superstitious/Witch Hunter are always good. Of course, now you are at 4 rage powers, but will only get three for the build. Something will have to give. It will probably be guraded stance, unless you spend a feat for extra rage power. However, I would advice you not to because...

Feats: I would make your guy a good archer as well. With such a high dexterity, why not? I would pick up point blank shot, precise shot, deadly aim and rapid shot. By the way, Witch Hunter and Inspire Courage +2 damage would both apply to your ranged attacks.

Have you take a look at the goblin racial barbarian archetype? It is very fun and flavorful, as well as pretty strong. It is not as strong as the more standard barbarian though..

I would probably build a Natural Attacker Urban/Invurnerable Rager Goblin Barbarian

Invurnerable Rager/Urban Barbarian 6 , Master of Many Styles Monk 1

Alternate Racial Traits: Hard Head, Big Teeth

Traits: Optimistic Gambler, Berserker of the Society

Take the favored class bonus as many times as you can.

STR 8
DEX 23 (+1 at 8th, 12th, 16th, 20th lvls)
CON 16
INT 10
WIS 12
CHA 5

1 Barbarian Weapon Finesse
2 Barbarian RP: Lesser Beast Totem
3 Barbarian Weapon Focus (Bite)
4 Barbarian RP: Superstition
5 Monk Snake Style, Snake Fang
6 Barbarian
7 Barbarian Feral Combat Training (Bite), RP: Beast Totem

At higher lvls you will certainly want Combat Reflexes, Weapon Focus (Claws) and Piranha Strikes. You should also work your way to the Crane Style feat tree.

You definately want an agile Amulet of Mighty fists.

Items:

Agile Amulet of Mighty Fists (5000)
Longbow
+1 Fortification (light) Haramaki (4000)
Ring of Protection +1 (2000)
Cloak Of Resistance +1 (1000)
Belt of incredible dexterity +2 (4000)
Handy Haversack (2000)
Boots of Elvenkind (2500)
Eyes of the Eagle (2500)

Just wanted to post the build I suggested above. Makes for a great switch hitter who is deadly with bow and scimitar. AC and Saves are impressive.

Dervish of the Dawn 1 / Urban & Invulnerable Barbarian 6

(25 point build): Str (10); Dex (22 + 2 from Belt), Con (14), Int (7), Wis (12), Chr (11 +1 leveling)
AC (28 raging), Ref (+15 raging), Fort (+8 raging), Will (+8 raging)

Campaign Traits: Indomitable Faith (+1 Will Save), Whatever (I would take the one that makes you not flatfooted in first round of combat)

Feats/Notable Class Abilities/Rage Powers
1) Proficiency (Scimitar) free, Dervish Dancer free, Inspire Courage (+2), Point Blank Shot
2) Crowd Control, Controlled Rage
3) Superstitious, Rapid Shot, DR (1)
5) Witch Hunter, Precise Shot, DR (2)
7) Beast Totem Lesser, Deadly Aim, DR (3)

Spells: Feather Step and Liberating Command

Items:
+1 Longbow Composite (+0) (4K): +19 / +19 / +14 (1d6 + 5) w/ Inspire Courage, Raging and Witch Hunter. Also, for -2 to attacks can add +4 extra damage with Deadly Aim.
+1 Furious Scimitar (8K): +20 /+15 (1d6 + 16) w/ Inspire Courage, Raging and Witch Hunter.
+2 Belt of Dexterity (4K)
+1 Mithril Chain Shirt (3K)
+1 Ring of Protection (2K)
+1 Amulet of Natural Armor (2K)
Wand of Cure Light Wounds (750 gold)
