Improved Share Spells and Eidolons, what am I missing?

Advice

So if I'm reading the feat correctly

Improved Share Spells

Then anytime my eidolon moves more than 5 feet away from me he looses any buffs I've given him via this feat. Doesn't that effectively lock me and my eidolon down to wherever I cast the spell? Yet people seem to think this is a must have feat for a summoner.

What am I missing?

Well you only have to cast shield or mage armor once and it affects both of you. But the 5foot thing seems kind of harsh.

Shadow Lodge

It's usually for mounted summoners or druids, or familiars who are always sitting on their master's shoulder.

I'm glad it's not just me.

Makes total sense for a mounted summoner. I've just seen it recommended for every brand of summoner. Doesn't seem worth it for any other type.

Couldn't you ready an action to move and attack with your eidolon/animal companion/munt/whatever?

Ready action: I move when my eidolon moves and attack/cast a spell when it attacks.

No... you can just only ready a standard or a move action... :-(

Ok then... changing my eidolon from biped to quadruped or serpentine XD

1 person marked this as a favorite.

You can just both go on the same initiative and move together.
