Someone from Lastwall is called . . ?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

I've been running a campaign in Lastwall for the past six months, and somehow have managed to avoid answering the above question directly.

So what do you call a chap or chapess from Lastwall?

My best guess would be a Lastwaller . . .

Yep, I'd go with that. Perhaps 'Waller' or "Wallee' in less formal settings.

A wally.

Wallaby?

Maybe Laster? Cause of them holding out against all the orcs and undead.

A deserter?

If I'm not mistaken, Lastwall is part of Mendev so you'd be a Mendevian. Generally people don't use isms, or ites, instead if they wish to include their origin in their identity, they'd identify themselves as "Name of <Place of Origin>" So you could be Saul of Lastwall, and might be referred to as such.

Have you looked at a map of Golarion recently?

Anyway, "Lastwallian" sounds appropriately weird.

It could be something as simple as Lastian.

In English we don't call Swiss people Switzerlandians.

Where is wally?

In the real world, they do if they're from Wisconsin (Wisconsinites). No reason they couldn't in Golarion.

Don't think that'd work for Last Wall, though.

I'd probably go with Lastwaller, as a generic term, and the "Saul of Lastwall" route LazarX is suggesting for individuals.

If I recall correctly from my stint on Shadows of Gallowspire, the terms are Lastmen and Lastwomen, or "Lastfolk" in mixed-gender company.

Been using "Lastwaller", but Lastmen/women/folk sounds right.

"Brick" seems like a decent derogatory term...

Lastwall was originally a Ustlavian held Taldor city fort. They broke from Taldor (on good terms) at the same time as Cheliax, but did so to avoid politics to accomplish their mission, and where still favored, financed, and patronized by Taldor.

I would think that they might be called Watchers rather than any moniker based off of Lastwall. Sounds a little Game of Thronesy, but probably more true than Lastwall. Vellumisi, perhaps, based of the name of the original land before the nation became known for it's commandeered fort region.

The Last of Us... ;)

I think it would be more of "the first to die!"

For a South Walian like myself, it doesn't sound that weird. I'd probably drop an L and make it Lastwalian.
