Hello, gamers!
This is an interest check for one of Paizo's older modules, Entombed with the Pharaohs. It's a little rough around the edges, perhaps, but I really like the feel of it, which is: old-school dungeon crawl, set in Osirion. Mummies, curses, traps, intrigue, theft, and the potential to die in interesting and horrible ways.
This is not a recruitment thread. If I feel there are enough interested people, I will create a proper recruitment thread. I won't be looking at any applications/aliases people post here, so.... knock yourself out if you want to describe your character, but be prepared to have to re-post applications down the line.
I am a good GM for you if you:
-Value roleplay over 'rollplay'
-Put thought into your tags
-Have decent reading comprehension (players who have no idea what is going on because they aren't paying attention to what the GM and other players have typed are a big pet peeve of mine)
-Like the PBP format
-Trust the GM to make rolls for your character
-Can tag once a day
-Can use Roll20.net for maps/etc
The game will be for four level 6 characters who work for the Pathfinder Society as part of their back-stories. I'm not going to get too heavily into build mechanics right now since, again, this is an interest check, not a recruitment thread, but I will likely offer both a chance to roll stats, or a chance to accept a point-buy for build.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask me!

Shaggar was built as a 'reformed' gnoll (good aligned and attempting to make his way among the muzzle-less races) exiled from his clan for a Katapesh/Osirian campaign that unfortunately went belly up. If you are curious, you can read a bit of his backstory for that game on his character sheet. I don't think it would take too much tweaking to make him an believable associate of the Pathfinder Society. I'm happy to hammer that out in the recruitment thread assuming things get that far.

Though I lack a history of posting here I'd certainly be interested if you had room for a new-to-the-forums player.
As you've stated this to be an interest check over a recruitment thread I won't boast about why you should pick me (you should though ;P) so instead a couple questions.
I haven't seen the term 'tag' as in 'tag once per day' is that simply to post once per day?
PFS isn't a huge thing of mine, I'd be happy to read up on some of it for back story but a pointer on just how knowledgeable one ought be would be great.
Not to be hypocritical, but have you dont much PBP before? I've played a couple games over email and on the somethingawful forums that always died due to players(when I GM'd) and the DM when I played and it would be nice to know others are in it for the longer haul.
Cheers

Shaggar-- sounds good. It looks like you could pretty easily justify why he's a member of the Society, yes.
Parcobi-- there's always room for new players!
A tag is synonymous with a post, yes. Players are certainly welcome to post MORE than once per day, if their schedule allows, but a minimum of once a day keeps the game moving. If real life is temporarily interfering with the ability to post once a day, it's okay with me as long as players let me know about it.
The Pathfinder Society will not feature terribly heavily in the module, but it's the backstory reason to explain why all the PCs are working together. As long as you know what the Society IS, and have a good idea of why your character would have willingly joined a group that is essentially Indiana Jones, Incorporated, then you don't need much more than that.
I've played a lot of PBP (I'm currently in 7 PBP games, with applications out for two more) and I've GMed one PBP, now concluded, that went fairly well, if my players are to be believed.
I'm really familiar with the hassle of getting in a PBP game only to have it die or stall on you. When I GM, I commit to the game. I also only GM play by posts with definite start-and-end points, as opposed to open-ended campaigns.
I ran through my last PBP (a Pathfinder Society module called Blakros Matrimony) in about two months. This is a longer module, and anticipates that the characters will level up twice during the course of the adventure. I am therefore anticipating it will take a probable 6-9 months RL time to finish, but we'll see if I'm correct in that or not.

I'm not going to be making an entry, but I would like to say that this particular adventure is awesome on so many levels. In fact, I may have used it for ideas in my own upcoming campaign.. thats how awesome of a single-shot this is.
Sorry to see you won't be joining us, but yeah, I agree with it being an awesome adventure. Have you played J-4, the kinda-sequel? There's some FUN screwed-up stuff in that. I may run it as a follow-up if this one goes well.

Shaggar clued me into this little gem of an interest check. While I know you're not really asking for concepts, I have a few that might be fun for this.
Though, to be honest, my main interest is that i've never gotten to play in an old-school dungeon-crawl... and that just makes me really interested.

Okay folks, here's proper recruitment!
Eben, check the char creation guidelines in the Recruitment. :3
