My main concern and that which I’m trying to fix is still the trivialization of Mythic power. While that’s not a problem mechanically (as several of you have pointed out, there’s always a bigger fish)

If the pond is filled with sharks, how do the guppies survive? You either end up with only sharks or the level 1 commoner guppies start carrying +5 vorpal keen scimitars (yes, I know the enhancement bonus)

On closer inspection, it seems very difficult to apply a ‘cover-all’ set of rules to MA to accomodate lower-level play where the heroes are Mythic, but the Mythic challenges are rare and uniquely climactic. That might have been the reason this play style is not really fully covered in the book in the first place.

Mythic Heroes should be facing Mythic challenges. If mythic challenges are going to be rare, consider the Mythic abilities to be something that's active only when they are called for. The Action Pack version of Hercules is considered an example of a mythic fighter. For him it was the non-mythic challenges that were rare. But for low level play it's probably best that mythic abilities be on the area of temporary grants.

The biggest thing to note about Mythic Adventures is that it is not the standard Pathfinder rules. If you're going to use the Mythic Rules, you should do so in a Mythic Campaign. They shouldn't be used for every single campaign you run.

I would also not run any mythic adventures until 20th level.
Additionally, any monsters that are CR 20 or less...ditch them. They don't count as mythic as far as i am concerned.

I mean come on...mythic OGRE?
When I hear the word Mythic I think of fighting Scylla and Charybdis, wrestling the kraken, punching out Chthulu...not fighting some dumb ogre.

Allowing mythic at low level was a huge design mistake.

I couldn't disagree more. Mythic is strangling 2 serpents in your crib. That's not high level by any means.

And yes, a mythic ogre, the biggest, baddest ogre this world has ever known, and probably the biggest and baddest Ogre this world ever will know (other than said mythic ogre's mother perhaps). It is invulnerable to the blades of lesser men. The only thing we know about it is that it raids the mead hall of Heorot.

Dang it! I had a chance to make a reference to actual classic literature and ShadowcatX got to it first! :P

/sigh.
