Elves and Half Elves

Rules Questions

Silver Crusade

I've a question. Do half elves get the same immunity to paralysis that elves get? I'm trying to understand if they do or don't enjoy the same immunities that elves have from paralysis so if you know what rule this falls in please link it?

Silver Crusade

Would racial heritage elf give that immunity to a human with that feat also?

Grand Lodge

Half-Elves only get what is listed in their entry.

As per FAQ, Half-Elves cannot take Human, or Elf feats, or archetypes.

Silver Crusade

So why do elves get immune to paralysis on some monsters and half elves dont? Neither has it listed in core book under immunities.

Because they're only half an elf.

Grand Lodge

They don't have immunity to paralysis, of any kind.

The Ghoul, which you are likely referring to, simply has a paralysis effect that does not effect some creatures.

That's something different.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Half Elves do count as Elves for the purpose of an effect that specifically targets Elves. So, for a Ghoul's paralysis, the Half Elves would be immune.

The books spell this out pretty blatantly (example using Ghoul paralysis):

Quote:

Elf Blood: Half-elves count as both elves and humans for any effect related to race.

Special Attacks paralysis (1d4+1 rounds, DC 13, elves are immune to this effect)

I love some of this carry over from old school red box d&d =)
