Examines the Face: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30

*looks at the face too*

"...Nasty???"

"Last one up the stairs has to bathe Nasty!!"

Trap considers the multiple possible meanings of his statement and strides and springs up the stairs....

As he adds..."In front of everyone!"

Not it.

Sovereign Court

Passive Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28

TD: As you are making your way down to examine the defaced carving of a giant face, you notice what looks to be a secret door at the corner where the balcony turned north.

"Time out."

Examines secret door.....
1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32 disable device.
Quick disable talent...

Sovereign Court

TD: There are no traps on the door and it is now unlocked.

Also for those that examined the big carved face, there are no hidden goodies or passageways through it.

"Opening a door...might be the pantry!"

Sovereign Court

The 20' wide x 30' long chamber is bare of furniture and has a heavy layer of dust and fine sand on the floor. In the northwest corner are stairs leading up to a narrow platform

"Looks like we had a whole village of idiots living here for generations and no one found a simple thing like a door!"

Maybe they didn't have a rogue as good as you!

Sovereign Court

Contrary to headhunter beliefs, eating brains does not make one smarter

Search for hidden doors: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30

Sovereign Court

Nothing to see here: 1d6 ⇒ 4
No really: 1d2 ⇒ 1

Alissa makes her way along the northwestern wall searching for secret doors, upon passing the steps leading up, she stumbles upon a trap door in the floor. In the northeast corner of the room.

Reflex: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24

in the nick of time she jumps back avoiding a 10' fall.

YIKES! That was close.

*Looks down into the pit.*

Hey, Alissa found another secret passage!

Awwwwwww...

Sovereign Court

Alissa: You see a dark hall with water of an undetermined depth in it. You also note that you are behind the giant carved face.

What do I see when I look thru the eyes?: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22

Sovereign Court

If you wish to see through the eyes, you are going to have to climb the stairs...

*Climbs the stairs and looks out thru the eyes.*
(See Above.)

Sorry, Wasn't feeling myself in the above post.

Scarab Sages

Are the stairs safe? Knowledge (Engineering): 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (4) + 19 = 23

Sovereign Court

Alissa: The narrow platform above gets you behind the eyes. Two small holes allow you to view the main chamber(The one where all the fighting took place. Between the two spy holes is a large wooden piston and handle.

*Looks at the strange mechanism.*

TAK, I think this might be more suited to you.

Scarab Sages

"Really?" Tvashtri clops up the stairs to join Alissa.

Trap looks for interesting items....

1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16

Sovereign Court

TD: If you find dust and sand interesting, then by george this is one fascinating room. If not, there is the wooden piston and handle up top by Alissa

"Whats going on? Sorry me got lost there a second with all the wonderful bodies to eat."

"I dont want a bath. Me no like bath time. Older siblings and Uncles always tried to see how long I could hold my breath for. It was not fun even when I held it for 3 minutes me counting they would try to keep me under. Then I would bite them to let me up. Did not always work sometimes I needed to bash them with my club then they would let me up."

Maybe Nasty and I get along so well because our upbringings were so similar.

The neighbor kid had the record: he held his breath for almost three minutes. Unfortunately for him, I held him under for five.

"I heard this game before! How do you make a dead orc baby float?.....take your foot off his neck."

Schism went 4 minutes under the water and no one had to hold me down, just bring me up.

"Who created this empty room????.....hold on levers! Those will surely do something!"

Heads to the levers....

"I once had a walking underwater barrel that a gnome built for me, it had levers, it got crushed by a kraken....found lots of good stuff though.....maybe this whole island moves!"

Scarab Sages

Tvashtri is already examining the levers in as much detail as they have to offer.

Knowledge (Engineering): 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (14) + 19 = 33

Sovereign Court

TAK: It looks like pulling the handle does some kind of effect in the main chamber.(The one on the other side of the face and below)

Scarab Sages

"Ah. Well. This is boring. Boring, yet enigmatic...."

Tvashtri pulls the handle.

You just had to say that out loud, didn't you?

Sovereign Court

TAK: By pulling the handle, the piston sprays a 20' diameter cloud of inflammable dust through the nose of the face into the main chamber. As it reaches a torch a fiery explosion happens.

1d100 ⇒ 42...Good thing

Because of it's age you had a 20% chance of a smaller explosion up here.

Scarab Sages

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Tvashtri observes the spectacle with a mixture of appreciation and trepidation.

"Hmm. BOORDOOR, what a place! Here, noses blow you!"

Good thing you stopped eating and joined us Nasty.

"Its a giant oven for cooking large meals....how does this work???"

Trap tries to figure out how to make one of these....

Disable device 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 24

Sovereign Court

1 person marked this as a favorite.

TD: You can certainly figure out how to make your very own angry deity effect. How much do you think this is worth 100, 50 no for this limited time we are offering this kit for 9.99.

Here's how to order

That's a good deal for an easy bake oven....

Trap makes some notes....

"I wonder if angry face told them to eat their neighbors?"

TAK, do you think you could duplicate that in one of your toys.
If we can find the source of the dust, that is.

Scarab Sages

"Possibly," Tvashtri looks Agni over quizzically. "It would be a very large leap in magnitude and a challenging test of my skills, but at least the basic design is the same...."

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30

Sovereign Court

You can figure it out...by sending 9.99 to this address

Hurry our supplies are limited, operators are standing by

Scarab Sages

"Oh. Oh dear, I fear that my own supply of pecuniary wealth is rather limited...perhaps there is a short quest we could do on your behalf instead? Or perhaps the secret remains to be found in the Fabled Workshop of the Schwarzfey, which I still hope to find, as that sign assured me that it was somewhere on this side of the mountains (or possibly among them)!"

Why don't you just open up the face and take the powder that is left in there?

"Nope....I suspect similar to alchemist fire, contact with air makes it go boooom!!!"

"Plus this thing is old and dangerous... "

Well, dodging traps is your specialty.
