Nasty quickly grabs one of the shrunken heads and gobbles it up before Jenny can eat all of them.

Looking around at his team. "What? I didn't want to miss out."

Perception ....traps without looking talent...1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13

"Anyone able to tell what humanoids the shrunken heads tasted like?"

Sovereign Court

Neither Alissa or TD detect any sort of traps

"I am guessing... *bbbburp* ... on some more natives. Possibly natives the now living natives didn't like. I am hardly a conoisseuse."

"They taste good like ... like when you leave meat out to rot for a week in a bog. And it gets extra bonus stuff like worms and maggots and stuff like that. Though different."

"Like jerky?"

Sovereign Court

Ok kids, it looks like we are on a holiday break. Merry christmas and Happy new year all,

Dark Archive

Merry Christmas to all out there and most Happy New Year.

"Yeah it has sort of a nice flavor like Halfling jerky has."

"Bah humbug jerky flavored shrunken heads..."

Sovereign Court

Shakes himself out of food induced coma

What the... oh yes now where did I leave off

Quote:

After a liesurely paddle across the lake to Taboo island, you find yourselves at the temple entrance. The entrance has been carved into the side of a rocky cliff. Two primitive docks of narrow poles and weak planking extend from the temple steps. Two steps lead to a landing lined with pillars. The landing and pillars are made of red marble. Set on poles thrust into the cracks in the floor of the landing are many shrunken heads, jawbones, feathered totems and other primitive symbols.

Three short flights of steps lead up to a second landing 5' above the first. To either side of the center steps is a stone foot and ankle, the remains of a huge statue that once straddled the stairs. The end stairways are flanked by another red marble pillar. At the back of the second landing is an opening leading back into the cliff. The opening is flanked by another pair of pillars. Carved out of the angled back walls of the landing are two bas-reliefs of humans holding lighted braziers.

The room is 90' wide x 50' deep.

*Yawn!
Did someone cast a sleep spell on me?

Scarab Sages

Tvashtri ponders the question, then looks down with a mixture of concern and accusation at Minimus Macabre.

Nasty walks up to the bas-reliefs holding the braziers and pulls forth a chunk of the stone and eats some of it.

What does it taste like?

Sovereign Court

Nasty as you reach out and taste the stone which is kind of bitter from behind mounds of rubble headhunter tribesmen in bone armor attempt to eat you.

The party easily dispatches the primitives, between the two rubble piles that the headhunters used for cover is a hall heading east.

"Looks clear."

Perception 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28

Sovereign Court

TD: The hallway goes about 50' before it opens into a room. You can see the unmistakeable dancing light of a fire within the room

I hope we're not late for a barbecue.

"If there is no BBQ then you are just being mean to nasty....I guess mean and nasty go together...."

Don't insult all the mean people by comparing them to Nasty. He is several levels above that.

"Hmm, whacha say little green girl?" A mouthful of headhunter spits out all over her an eye ball gets caught in that spikey hair of hers.

"The eye is the prize, or is it keep your eye on the prize.....I can't remember..."

The eye is the beauty in the beholder.

Beholder!?!
Where?

*Draws bow and looks around frantically.*

Sovereign Court

There are no beholders....yet

"Oh yum I have always wanted to eat some beholder. Our tribe hunted a beholder for a while but it turned a bunch of us to stone and death rayed and scorching rayed a bunch of us then it escaped down a long shaft. I still dream of eating that floating eye."

One day, you will live that dream, Nasty.

Trap nods his head wondering about what the famous loreist would say about Nastys escape down a long shaft his mention of that one eye and his complete oral stage fixation....

Don't scare me like that!!
All those eyes.

*shudders*

Uh oh. Are we going to get sued for trying to kill non-OGL content?

Since it didn't actually appear, nope.

If it comes back can I eat it?

Since it wasn't there, no problem.

Which reminds me of a poem by Hughes Mearns.

Antigonish

Yesterday, upon the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today,
I wish, I wish he'd go away...

When I came home last night at three,
The man was waiting there for me
But when I looked around the hall,
I couldn't see him there at all!
Go away, go away, don't you come back any more!
Go away, go away, and please don't slam the door...

Last night I saw upon the stair,
A little man who wasn't there,
He wasn't there again today
Oh, how I wish he'd go away...

"What is an Ebay Olderhay?"

There problem solved,via pig latin

Floats in, denies existence

Gosh darnit, Nasty... there's your flying eye!

An eyes-xtential crisis.....

"Oh , Oh let me catch it. I am so hungry." He lashes out with his tongue to grab the creature.
