Spell to temporarily grant intelligence to a magic item?

I may be imagining this out of whole cloth, but I seem to recall a spell in Pathfinder that gives a magic item intelligence temporarily. I am failing to find reference to such a spell anywhere.

Is my Web-fu weak, or am I delusional?

I have never heard of such a spell. Intelligent items normally have special powers assigned to them, and such a spell would likely be well known.

I saw it too..

Intelligent object

School transmutation; Level bard 3, sorcerer/wizard 3

CASTING
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S

EFFECT
Range medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Target one object
Duration 1 round/level
Saving Throw Will negates(object); Spell Resistance yes (object)

DESCRIPTION
You temporarily give an item or object the semblance of intelligence. The item is of the same alignment that you are and is considered friendly towards you. The target object can see and hear as a normal human could within a range of 60 feet, and it can speak and read any two languages you can.

If the wielder of the targeted item tries to uses it against you or your allies, the wielder must make a Will save or be unable to perform the desired action. Attacks with other weapons or abilities are unaffected.

Ok...I thought you were asking about official PF spells. Good Find.

Honestly... The spell is really morbid. Create a sentient life form for a round a level-
That knows full well that within two minutes or less it won't exist anymore. Not even dead- non -existint.
This spell needs the evil subtype. XD

Actually...

Impart Mind

From the Inner Sea Magic guide. At least it's an hour a level as opposed to a round a level.

That's IT!!!

Thanks Zarzuakar & Forgottenprince! I knew I had read it, but I didn't have my copy of Inner Sea Magic & was just going through the Hardcovers.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Wow, what an awesome way to waste money hoping your magic item gains some useful powers for a short while...

...not impressed.

Yea but its half-worth it just to use on the BBEG ridiculous item and have it turn around with its new alignment and try to disown its owner with its new ego score

With a 2 round casting time?

It's a great example of bad spell design. But then again it's third party. They sell these things to players who then try to push them on their DM's, so they aren't bound by the same constraints as Paizo who really has to sell to both.
