Ok, got to read a bit, since it is lunchtime where I'm at. Looks good. There will need to be a little tweaking, but I like it!
Here is the roster thus far:
- Lou Kasuri - human (Quain?) monk
- Rauno Kaln - human (Varisian) tattooed sorcerer
- Miles of Magnimar - human (?) rogue (some background necessary)

Hey! I'm really interested in this too! I'll probably run with either a rouge or a ranger, not quite sure yet (I usually run with a ranger, but I'm thinking of mixing it up XD)
I'm fine with the house rules, they seem pretty interesting. The only thing is like Lou, I'd rather do pbp because I work a lot of late afternoons and nights, so my time at those times will be constrained a lot. Other than that, I always wanted to roll through this campaign!

@Raven, I am currently running my first PbP for PFS, and it is turning out to be pretty good. So, PbP is looking more and more viable. Bear in mind that it might be a while yet. I want to finish playing our face to face Jade Regent Campaign before I run this. (Especially since my friend that is running this one is borrowing my books.) ;p
@Jordan, sorry to hear that. Have a good one.

That's fine. I can wait. It gives me time to really work on the character. Quick question, though. I noticed in the homebrew rules that there were several archetypes and prestige classes. I was wondering if those were supposed to be apart of this or not. If they are where can I find the gatashi shadow weaver, because I might want to build a character off that.

Actually those were from my Rise of the Runelords campaign. I have not made the Gastashi Shadow Weaver as of yet, but that was mostly because there was no interest.
Just bear in mind that Gastash was the territory of Gluttony, I believe. They focused on Necromancy... It will be walking a fine line, keeping from becoming evil. If you are still interested, I will see what I can come up with.
It will likely use negative energy to form energy weapons with a vampiric quality. Probably will have wizard requirements and maybe rogue or skill requirements.

Andiemus, have you checked the house rules yet? They are substantial, but are due to my running style. I prefer more RP, less optimization. I will also be using a combination of Relationship rules and Prestige/Fame rules. I want it to be as cinematic/literary as possible.
Also, I will be waiting to run until we finish the Jade Regent campaign that I am playing in, but we are on the last book, so maybe a few months at earliest.
If you are still interested and/or have not found a Jade Regent campaign by then, I would be interested in running you guys.

I'm glad I caught this on one of its front-page days.
This is very interesting, and I like the idea of a low-magic setting. Shalastian ranger seems interesting as well, although I have no idea what Thassilon is.
I assume we would all start at level one?
I'm interested in playing a cleric, ranger, fighter, or what have you.

Nothing is set yet, but we will see. I haven't heard much from many of the older applicants. I will check again with a final role call. Just think about what you know about the AP and make sure you have a hook to be traveling around the world. Check the Jade Regent Players Guide. There are many tips and a lot of background.
Andiemus
I'd like to say that I am concretely interested in this. I've been hoping to try Jade Regent for a while.
EDIT: Though I think it should be said that I have never played with relationship or Fame/Prestige rules, so with that in addition to the house rules, it may take a while to get my bearings. I've played Pathfinder fairly extensively before, though, so I don't think it will be too problematic.
Aeshuura

Not a problem, you will not even need to track those two (Prestige/Fame or Relationship), as they will be tracked behind the screen, based on actions in game.
If you have played PFS, you know how the Fame/Prestige works. Basically the same thing, except that I am allowing them to be spent on raises to ability scores, learning feats, etc.

Sorry, I changed it again. I noticed we didn't have a face so I think I'm going to roll with a Dervish Dancer Bard. So if you want to be a ranger, Bayard, go right ahead. I think this will clear up any head-aches the background might cause, plus I've been wanting to try this archetype out for a while now anyway XD.
I have him made, I just need to make him an alias. I'll get him up tomorrow once I figure out how to get all his info formatted on here.
Lou Kasuri
Lou, no luck? I saw you throw your hat in the ring with one of the other recruitment threads, but I didn't see if you got picked or not.
@ Bayard, that'll work. A campaign trait will tie you to one of the major npcs.
no luck Lou just wasn't as cool as the other monk I guess besides I think the DM didn't want anyone being a native of Sandpoint for his game.
so Lou is still here and waiting...

I think you are a few points over. You saw the House Rules, right? It's a 15 point buy. You shouldn't have anywhere enough points for a 19 to start, even with the 7 Wis.
Also, bear in mind that with a dumped Wisdom like that you are going to be put into situations that the weakness will be exploited. I do not shy away from making people regret dumping stats.
If you do dump Wisdom, I would like a description of how this manifests most often. Are you easily persuaded, hot-tempered, quick to act without thinking, for example?
Aeshuura

The one thing that I want to be clear about the starting with 15 pt buy is that I will be giving more ability score bumps at 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20. (1 bump for 2 different scores) and at 10 and 20, I will give a straight bump across the board. (Probably one of the only things that I really liked about 4e.)
I will also allow Prestige purchases for ability score raises, but that will be earned through role-playing.
This is going to be less of a crunch game and more of a flavor game. As is my running style.
Nikolia Guaril
I explained it wrong. Blood of Angels allows you to take alternate abilities to the Standard Spell-like abilities including things like detect pregnancy and +2 bumps to different ability scores. I choose +2 to Dex over having the glitter-dust spell-like ability. So abilities actually come out at +4 to Dex and +2 to Cha. So I do have enough to buy 19 with the dump, barely , but enough XD
Also, I'm fine with the repercussions of dumping Wis, I was planning on making him naive and bull-headed anyway lol.
If you still have questions about it, let me know. I'll be more than happy to answer them.
Aeshuura
|
I just picked it up. If you are giving up your glitterdust, you do not get to pick the ability, you will have to roll a percentile for me.
You can use the dice roller command on this messageboard, and we will use that.
Sorry to be a stickler, but that is how it is going to have to work, to be fair to the others.
Nikolia Guaril
Ok, I fixed his crunch. I'll get the background up later today once I write it.
@ Rauno Klan: That's fine, I already have a lot of the leg work done on him and I think a dancing bard whose mother was a harrower in a varisian caravan adds some nice flavor. Plus I've been wanting to make a dervish since I found this archetype. XD
