Background Story:
Nikolia was born to a Varasian harrower who fell in love with a Bralani Azata that was in turn infatuated with his mother. The Bralani was entranced at how Nikolia's mother was able to dance so gracefully that it even rivaled his own movements while in his wind form. His mother was beautiful when his father met her. She had long raven-black hair that extended down past her waist with deep emerald eyes. Her skin was the color of caramel that seemed to make her bright smile stand out even more. Her true beauty, though, was the gracefullness that she moved in everything she did, especially her dancing. He never met his father, but his mother told him stories about him when he was a child. She said that he was a tall man, easily mistaken for an elf with long flowing golden hair that flowed on the wind like lightning across the sky. His eyes were two large orbs that constanlty swam through all the different colors of the rainbow in the blink of an eye. Whenever she spoke of him, she always had the largest smile on her face, because even though they could never be together, she knew that he was her only true love and she was his, and since very few ever actually met their true loves, she was content with the time she had with him. Plus, she would say with a smirk with the right corner of her mouth curled up more than the left, his father gave her the greatest gift she could ever ask for, her son. The pairing was ultimately doomed because even though he was welcomed by the caravan, Nikolia's father was looked down upon by the other Azata for attatching himself to a human. He was eventually called back to Elysium to stop his trist with the mortal woman. He begrudingly accepted, but before he departed, he left a few things with Nikoia's mother. The first, was a beautiful scimitar he claimed was forged in the forges in Elysium. He told her to keep the sword for their son when he grew old enough to use the weapon because: "Every man should be able to wield a sword to protect his family." The second kit was a hand painted harrow deck that he had made himself for Nikolia's mother. The two items were the two most important items the family owned for they were the only things they had left of Nikolia's father.

That left Nikolia's mother to take care of him on her own. It was not as difficult for her as it would be for another woman, because she had help. She was well loved by everyone in the caravan so Nikolia was truly raised by the entire caravan. As he grew into a young adult, he was taught many things by all the different members of the caravan. His favorite lessons, though, were always the dancing lessons his mother gave him every night when camp was made and the fires were lit. He always picked the moves up easily and was always seen dancing around the fire near his own wagon with his mother whenever he got the chance. As he grew, though, his jobs with the caravan shifted. No more could he spend his nights with his mother dancing around the fire and listening to the elders tell stories about their pasts. Instead, he began to learn how to use the sword given to him by his mother when she finally knew that he would have to protect the caravan, his family, just as his father had said. He studied under the head caravan guard for a few years, and even proved a formidable guard on the few raids that the caravan encountered, but he knew in his heart that he would never become a truly great warrior like in his favorite stories. Instead, he taught himself how to use the graceful moves his mother taught him to create a whirlwind with the sword his father gave him. Around the time he was fifteen, he had already grown into a great asset to the caravan. During the spring (A time his mother always loved on the varasian coast) of his eighteenth year, his mother died, leaving their wagon and everything in it to him. He stayed with the caravan for a few years after, but the memories of his mother haunted him every night he sat around the fire, no longer dancing. Eventually, he said goodbye to all his adopted family and decided to set off on his own.

He traveled along the old roads for a bit, conning travelers into reading the fortunes with his mother's harrow deck (he still believes to this day that his mother could actually tell someone's fortune, but he was born with out the gift) but money was beginning to run out quite quickly. He remembered the settlement of Sandpoint from the yearly travels to the place his caravan would take. He aimed his small wagon towards the sleepy town and eventually made it to the town. He sold his horse to the stables and was allowed to park his wagon behind the Hagfish and was given meals to eat in exchange for work and entertainment at the tavern. He loved working there and listening to the many patrons come in and give their hand at yarning. The long elaborate stories always reminded him of the stories his mother and the others in the caravan would tell him as a child. He even tried to drink the foul hagfish water a few times over his time there, but was never able to stomach the stuff. It was in his first year there that he was actually introduced to Shalelu. He remembered her from the few times he had seen her walking through town on the handful of times that she was in Sandpoint at the same time that his caravan was. He always thought she was always the most beautiful woman in Sandpoint in her own gritty way. He was always apprehensive around her, though, seeing her as a wild blue-jay that if you got too close to or made any rash movements he would scare away forever. So he remained content with calling off work whenever she was in town and finding a corner in the Rusty Dragon (where she would stay when she was in town) and admire her from afar, listening to her tails about her killing goblins out in the wild and harrowing tales of her even meeting the sandpoint devil once.

Now, he still lives in Sandpoint at the Hagfish. He has grown restless in his past few years, though. He wants to go on one of the grand adventures that he always liked hearing about. He didn't know if it was the Varasian or the Azata blood that ran through his veins, but something was calling him to move. He longs to accompany Shalelu out into the wilderness on some of her adventures. He has recently heard that Sheriff Hemlock has brought back the bounty on goblins in the area and thinks that if he could bring in a few ears he might be able to convince Shalelu that he could be a huge help to her in the wilderness.
