I'm working on leveling Grizelda now. I could use some help figuring out how much gold she has, seems I neglected to keep track. But she's not bought anything beyond her original purchases out of her savings so it shouldn't be tough to figure out.
So we got 30 gold from Burrbarr Drenn, Grizelda gave up the bottle of wine to the leprechauns, if I remember correctly. No gold was spent or gained while with the tinkers. Did we gain any gold from the kobolds or was that included in the final tally of 400 gold? Also you mentioned gems on the kobolds and the orc, can we sell and divvy those once back at Daggermark?
Edit: I think we also need to divvy these:
1 potion of cure light wounds (5th level)
2 potions of invisibility (3rd level)
1 scroll of summon monster II (5th level)
1 scroll of lesser restoration (5th level)
1 scroll of dispel magic (5th level)
GM &rew
All gold and treasure was included in the 400 gold from Duvik's Pass. Magic items were not included. (Tomid also has a thunderstone.) I have not been reducing the costs of gems/jewelry (because they listed price should be the sell price!) and I'm not 'taxing' you for monthly expenses because your characters have a side job that pays for the basics. If any of you want to move uptown in the city, or get your own place, or whatever, just let me know and we'll work something out =)

"To have any chance of activating a scroll spell, the scroll user must meet the following requirements.
• The spell must be of the correct type (arcane or divine). Arcane spellcasters (wizards, sorcerers, and bards) can only use scrolls containing arcane spells, and divine spellcasters (clerics, druids, paladins, and rangers) can only use scrolls containing divine spells. (The type of scroll a character creates is also determined by his class.)..."
I thought scrolls could be used by either, but the PRD had the above. My problem is old knowledge from original D&D game 8D
Tomid
Disclaimer: No attempt is made to correct the DM in this statement.
At least for PFS, there is no such thing as a diving or arcane scroll. If a scroll is on both caster lists it may be used by either arcane or divine casters. I have to admit that 1) I am not all that fond of this rule, and 2) I am not sure if that is a Pathfinder thing or a society convention for simplicity.

Silas continued to progress as a rogue, but the fear bug has been put him in for a possible rangery change in the future thanks to the dreams.
He gained Evasion, now has +2d6 sneak and gained the Rumormonger ability.
A rogue with this talent can attempt to spread a rumor through a small town or larger settlement by making a Bluff check. She can do so a number of times per week equal to her Charisma modifier (minimum 0). The DC is based on the size of the settlement, and it takes a week for the rumor to propagate through the settlement. If the check succeeds, the rumor is practically accepted as fact within the community; succeeding by 5 or more over the DC decreases the time it takes the rumor to propagate by 1d4 days. A failed check means the rumor failed to gain traction, while failing by 5 or more causes the opposite of the rumor or some other competing theory involving the rumor’s subject to take hold.
I assume Daggermark is a "small town", which is DC 18. Large Town is DC 20.
As far as skills go, he got better at most of the things he does, but thanks to gaining the Self-Sufficient feat from his time hunting with the brothers, he invested some skill ranks into Survival, as well Heal. And a little bit in Acrobatics, too, because of the belt.

Stumbled upon this little gem, and thought id share.
"Knowledge (local) being trained only, and not a class skill for many classes, means that your average human may well not be able to identify other humans! This may explain the exceptional quantity of half-human hybrids."
Grizelda Blau
That's hilarious! XD
Ok, Grizelda is leveled up now. She'll purchase two 2nd level arcane scrolls, Summon Monster II, and Levitate. Then she'll cast Read Magic to decipher the scrolls and then study each one for one hour. Not sure if you can take 10 on this Spellcraft check, so here are the rolls.
Spellcraft to learn Summon Monster II: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
Spellcraft to learn Levitate: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
Then she will write them in her spellbook at a cost of 40 gold each, which will leave her with 54.59gp. I'm up past my bedtime, so I'll post her rp stuff tomorrow (or actually later today after I've slept, lol!). She has some fun new spells she'll be itching to try out!

Been trying to muster up a "return to daggermark" post, but I dont have any good hooks for it, except maybe for Hugo becoming terribly ill since he failed atleast two saves in a row.
Grizelda Blau
I just wanted to reiterate that I'm working on a lengthy post that will characterize some of Grizelda's family. (She's coming out of the arcane closet!)
But I have a test to study for and just can't finish it up today. Sorry to be slacking, I just really wanted a good down-time post and the writing has been slow going. I'll get it up asap after this test is done.

Yeah - we're in no hurry. Besides - the story is what I love the most about this group! As an avid, life-long reader of fantasy and science fiction, this game has more life to me than any other because of the rich backgrounds and personalities you all have written into it! And I try to use elements of your background story to tie you to other adventures (Abigail and John Keel for the lizardswamp, Grizelda for the vinyard, Doc for the silver mine, and now Zinny for the rat's nest...) If I had ANY talent for writing, this group and our adventures would make a neat book (or series! =)
Plus...the break is giving me a little time to pre-write some of the descriptions, etc (yes this next adventure thread is a home-brew!) Cheers!!

I am around, but I usually post from work and work has been exploding with high volume lately. Just a time of year thing. My out of work time has been some rehearsal for a performance this Saturday in Mobile. When I am needed to post, I'll be posting. :)
Brother Silas Benedictine
Wow, no, I didn't even know there was a Mobicon. We're about to have a first annual Pensacon down here in February, but I think it is more sci-fi oriented than actual gaming. It has been on my mind to contact the organizers to see if there is an opportunity for that. So it's in May in Mobile, eh? Only about an hour away from me, really.
Tomid
I have been running it since, well way before Pathfinder. I ran Living Greyhawk there for years. I am up in Huntsville so its a 6 hour drive for me.
Mobile has its own venture captain now. He helped me a lot this last May, and could end up taking it over for me. I think he wants to and its his town so I suspect I'll give it of over eventually. :) But the con will continue to offer RPGs of some sort even if Pathfinder becomes less popular. After the Living Greyhawk days we existed on 4th edition til' Pathfinder came along. Those were the dark years. :)
Brother Silas Benedictine
Dark years, indeed. I was alright with the changes from 3.5 at first. I was willing to give it a chance, at least for the reason that I really enjoy the Forgotten Realms setting. And I actually didn't have any major problems with the evolution of the Forgotten Realms setting...except that it seemed a bit obvious the lore was a round peg crammed into a square hole by the mechanics changes WotC was so desperate to make in order to create what was effectively a tabletop WoW (or a tabletop card game, depending upon how you interpret it). So I ran a 4th Ed homebrew FR game for several months until my patience ran out and every encounter felt exactly the same. The mechanics just seemed to lack enough variety to keep it interesting. Frankly, it was like the game was pitching itself to the lowest common denominator and my players were well above that.
So then we went to Pathfinder, and all has been right with the world. I ran Carrion Crown, and now I'm playing in Shattered Star, then we'll be doing Skull & Shackles run by another player and then I'll be running Wrath of the Righteous.
Tomid
Living Forgotten Realms was worse than a normal 4th edition home game. There was no continuity at all. No planning (which I enjoy) or out of encounter play. We were teleported from encounter to encounter and it was either a skill challenge, with no thinking, or a combat encounter with little thinking. And even then I could play it and have fun. But then the rule creep started. The on-line character creator was fun, but not cheap. But suddenly it would only work with an internet connection and then you pretty much had to have it. I gave up. I quit playing but ran for another year. A year after that the game was dead and cons.

If anybody wants to kill some time.... *coff-unsubtle-pimping-coff* ...I'm rather chuffed with myself for taking second place in the Pathfinder Chronicler Fiction Contest for the year, so pardon a bit of squeeful bragging from this corner. If anyone's bored, my stories (Zero Hour and The Dragon's Attention) are available online, as well as all the other entries!
(Sorry to anyone who's in multiple games with me, you're about to get spammed across the board by my excitement!)
Hugo Smith
Both stories are a good read. Why do I feel like I've heard the name Geb before, in relation to necromancy no less? Is he a known NPC in Golarion?
Dragons Attention left me with so many questions :) Is it a setup for a bigger story?
bluedove
Congratulations! I read and enjoyed them both, but the Dragon one got to me. I can see why it did so well, made me tear up. Good stuff! ^_^
dien RPG Superstar 2015 Top 16
Aw, thanks guys. :)
@ Hugo: Geb is both an established NPC in Golarion, and a country-- a powerful necromancer named Geb rules the land that is named after him, and which borders the country of Nex (Nex and Geb have a long-standing war). Geb used to be alive, but then he killed himself because of a temper tantrum, and came back as an undead to keep fighting his war with Nex. Geb is basically a country where the intelligent undead are first-class citizens, and everyone else can suck eggs. :P
As for the second story, it's more a... hm, character-study/exploration of the old alignment question regarding another of Golarion's established-NPCs, Mengkare the dragon, the ruler of Hermea. He's an old gold dragon who has built himself a utopia island where he intends to 'perfect humanity' by means of... well, basically a eugenics program. :P There is a lot of dispute over whether or not Mengkare can actually be 'lawful good' as most gold dragons are, or whether the things that he's doing are fundamentally and essentially nasty. I find him fascinating, heh.

I had a dream in the less lucid hours of the early morning that Zinny's weapon was an iconic one on the level of a Grecian myth. It went basically like this: when Zinny was a child, her mother feared for her chastity, and so she built a wooden fence around her womb that the advances of no man could breach. And then, one day, she fell in love with the son of a blacksmith and with the might of the gods pulled the biggest of the fenceposts out and wielded it as a weapon to knock down every other post in the fence. And then she embraced the Herculean blacksmith and...
...and then the dream just kinda devolved into stuff I won't get into! But I was amused.
bluedove
So was Cyreen a Dhampir then? That was my guess. I haven't read much about the Golarion world yet. But I agree that sounds like a very interesting question of alignment... Paizo should give you a commission since I'm likely to buy more books now...
Is it just me, or does Silas tend to skew to the "penthouse forum" versions of... well, everything. XD
You kids behave or I'll bring Grizelda in here to give you her stern Librarian face... =P

Omg lol Red Shoe Diaries!
I had to go wikipedia it to be sure, but I remember watching this from time to time years ago. It was one of those "noone is up at this hour anyway, just put SOMETHING on" programs, and id end up sitting there with my eyes glazed over "watching" it whenever I turned on the telly late at night.
I cant remember even the slightest bit of plot from any of it, but the title somehow managed to ring a bell.
Aaaah, memory lane...

USA Up All Night was even more awesome. Particular American television station carried by Turner Broadcasting, I believe. Came on about 10pm on Friday and Saturday, hosted by Gilbert Gottfried at first and then some hot and busty blonde named Rhonda after him. They showed the greatest movies ever made (The Toxic Avenger, Nuke 'Em High, Porky's, Caged Heat (1 & 2!), Car Wash, and Sorority Babes at the Slimeball Bowl o' Rama just to name a few).
This was before the days of MST3K on Friday/Saturday nights, when hormones were just beginning to rage.
bluedove
I'm always in a bit of a "blue" mood, bluedove. Could have something to do with growing up watching USA Up All Night, Red Shoe Diaries, Dream On, and other samples of quality programming.
See and I thought the color for that mood was green. Or at least I'm pretty sure that is why my Geometry teacher refused to give me anything but green M&M's... ^_~
Your list of best movies ever is... *cough* ...enlightening. And now I'm going to lob a digital feminist tomato at you for remembering Gilbert Gottfried's name well enough to even spell it right while Rhonda Shear seems only memorable as far as her cup size. *splat*
GM &rew
LOL you guys are hilarious! Oh, and I LOVED MST3K! Mostly because I usually make the same kind of comments! Follow that with the original MXC "Don't...Get...Eliminated" Japanese game show that inspired today's Wipe-Out...

Ok, not to put a damper on our rat killin'... but that map looks like it still has a fair amount of space to explore and we are about to sally forth with no healer. I'd really like it if we could address that situation before moving on. I very much enjoyed Abigail's roleplaying, but we've not seen any in some time. =(
