Aw. I'm sorry. We got to sing carols, and I got to read the first chapter of a Christmas Carol. Maybe next year you'd come spend it with us. I mean I don't think Mom would mind...We did have an almost complete stranger stay with us for Christmas this year.
Thanks for the offer but I don't think it would help.

I thought it needed some of this.

Please use as few links as possible.
I can't speak for Lord Fur a but my issues are...
1) Leveled equipment
2) The tight math
3) Envoy is truly a waste of space...
- 1 - Space Combat is clunky?
- 2 - The setting is hard coded (such as equipment names) into the system?
- 3 - NPCs using radically different rules then the PCs do?
- 3A - Related to the above: the high attack values of the NPCs create some strange encounter results?
Actually, since you have some direct experience with Starfinder combat, how did it work for you?

So this is what I do for new years: My FLGS plays A New hope and then when the clock strikes midnight, the Death Star explodes.
Though there are some saying we should just do the Thanos finger snap instead this year...
What do you do for New Years, Selene?
Last few years I stay at home by myself and get very drunk...though if I will go out if invited by friends.

And how did the ground combats work?

Would you mind if I post some more complaints that I am finding with Starfinder?

Not at all...go ahead.
You should than organize and write a review of the game...

This thread got me looking at two related problems in Starfinder. Both come from your primary Beef with the game: Leveled Equipment
1 - Equipping a character like they were actually portrayed in the original work often requires equipment from radically different levels.
2 - Characters in actual science fiction rarely change their gear as often as Starfinder characters are forced to do so.
… grumble, grumble, grumble …
A better solution, retaining the base d20 system would have been what was done in the Star Wars game. Namely make the AC and Damage bonuses part of the character (and/or class) level. This would even have allowed them to keep the stupid math that they like. (… a different and harder to fix problem.)
Do you agree?
Can you think of other simple fixes that would have made the game better?

Yeah it would have made much more sense given the genre and the math inherent with the system.
I think I even suggested something along those lines...heck in PathFinder Unchained there are rules it for Pathfinder...
I am afraid StarFinder suffers from being a test bed for some concepts for PathFinder 2nd ed.

Actually making AC and Damage bonuses based on character class would benefit Pathfinder2. If one of the goals of PF2 is to reduce the dependence on Magic (see Resonance), then this would further that idea.
Magic could then be more rare (and powerful). And, like Fantasy literature and movies, finding or crafting a magic item could then be a major campaign event. For example, the awarding of Excalibur, the discovery of Star of Khorala, and the re-forging of Narsil into Andúril.
Not a question, per say.

Can you possibly believe that you made an error? I know, it is just too shocking to believe!
