Did you at least get a cake? Cause I don't think I'm getting a cake this year...

I had a okay time...lot of people could not make it...:( I may retry next week...

I had cake though on Wed at the horror game I play in on wed. One of my friends likes to bake.

I'm sorry to hear it wasn't a great time but okay time is...okay I guess...

I don't know why people get songs stuck in their heads...or why I dont... I just do not have that problem...

I find that either Dropkick Murphy's The Season's Upon Us and/or The Chieftains' and Elvis Costello's St. Stephen Day's Murders helps eliminate some catchy pop tunes. :p :)

Also what are some your favorite non-carol, non-traditional Christmas Songs, Selene?

Mmmm...,when I was young I thought Mama got run over by a Reindeer was hysterical...now I like it because of nostalgic reasons.

See I never got into that one...but then I was more of a "You're Mean One, Mister Grinch."

Thomas Seitz wrote:

Mmm...is that a Christmas song though? I mean sure it is a part of a Chistmas traditional cartoon.,,but it does not mention Christmas at all...and about how mean the Grinch is...

I do like it thoygh

It's from the movie How the Grinch stole Christmas, written by Dr. Suess. Fun fact: Boris Karloff, the actor that portrayed the old black and white Frankenstein Monster, narrated the movie and sang the song.

John,

That's actually incorrect as Thurl Ravenscroft was the singer. But you're correct that Boris Karloff narrated the movie AND provided the voice for the Grinch.

Selene,

Well it's KIND of a Christmas song... I mean sort of...

Well, not the first time I've been wrong. Certainly won't be the last.

And, yet it feels so Christmas-y.

Would this be better?

Thank you for the support Lord Fyre. And thank you Lindsey Stirling! :D

Now throwing pretty women at me won't convince me...,

Now I am not saying it is not a Christmas song...just find it a interesting discussion...

Now if you never saw How the Grinch Stole Christmas and heard that song would you think Christmas?

Can context make a thing Christmas?

Kinda like Diehard being a Christmas movie because it took place during Christmas....

Yes, it will!

Don't you know that it just isn't Christmas until ...?

Selene,

I don't believe Die Hard is one but I certainly think Gremlins is a Christmas movie.

But your point is well taken.

So.,.we decided...

'You Are a Mean One Mr. Grinch' is a Christmas Song...

Diehard is a Christmas movie.

And a special thanks to Lord Fyre for introducing me to Lindsey Stirling.

We have also proven that throwing enough pretty women at Selene will convince her of anything.

Does the "violin"-ce of her videos appeal to you?

2 people marked this as a favorite.

That and I always loved violin music

Lord Fyre,

WOW!!! I didn't know one of my favorite female vocalists/singers had Lindsey involved in that!!! Epic!! \m/ for Lzzy Hale.

Also I'm not sure I'm decided but I've given up arguing against Diehard as a Christmas movie...

But, do you agree that Alan Rickman was a genius?

Lord Fyre,

After watching Dogma, it was no longer in doubt.

Should we be addressing questions to each other in Selene Spires thread?

RPG Superstar 2009 Top 32

Selene Spires is gone.

  • Did she ever actually exist?
  • If she didn't who started this thread?
  • Has she entered a dimesion, beyond that which is known to man? Has Selene become lost in a dimesion as vast as space and as timeless as infinity? Is she trapped in the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge? Is she doomed to wander this is the dimension of imagination? Is she unable to escape an area which we call the Twilight Zone?

I hope we're not in the Twilight Zone. That one kid with the mental powers as great as Legion's reality warping powers scares the crap out of me.

Also for Selene; Do you have any favorite holiday traditions this time of year?

No...I was just waiting for you two to finish your conversation...don't mind me...it is just my thread after all...;)

Nope not in the Twilight Zone...I have not seen any corn fields in a while..

As a tradition I try to reach out to all of my friends...

Yes if people want...

Two Questions:

1 - Have you looked at the three new Starfinder classes?
2 - Does the, de facto, end of the Pathfinder II playtest give you any cause for hope?

Mmm...I think it has to do with the designer change over the years. The designers now just like games that I dont.

Council of Thieves
How did your group handle the murder play?
We found the transition too much to believe. "If we do this extremely dangerous thing, we MIGHT get invited to the Mayor's estate."

Second Darkness
Did your group have a problem with the harsh transition in tone between books 2 & 3?
It is where our group broke down.

Iron Gods
Was there a story or rules problem that broke up your Iron Gods campaign?
I.e., is there a pitfall that I need to worry of?

Well my character was a bard so she was all in no matter what...

And the GM sold it to us a definite that we would be invited to the party.

The problem was one player was trying to hog all the tech treasures...being he was my best friend I ended the game.
