Congrats! Just got mine, too, so know the excitement of it. Best of luck getting to 2 stars. Slotted to get mine just before Gen Con.

Welcome to the star club Cormac! Earning your way up the stars is a cool experience. Just be mindful you don't burn-out by GM'ing too fast. We want longevity in our GMs. Hope I get a chance to play at your table sometime.

BTW, if you sat at my table, proudly displayed your goblin plushy, and had an in-game connection to it, I would award you a re-roll if you didn't otherwise have one. :-)

I said it in person today, but congratulations. More talented GMs like you in Houston is exactly what we need.

There's already an official re-roll Goblin in existence.

My daughter managed to go ask nicely, suppose she got lucky:

Cute 12 year old,
With Goblin,
First Con,
First PFS Event,
Playing in 'Rise of the Goblin Guild'
happened to have Mike in attendance (all round top guy btw!)

Reroll Goblin.

Congrats! Love the re-roll goblin idea.

Congratulations. Sneaksy (my Goblin) likes the idea of being able to reroll his attacks.

Our goblin (my wife and son are PFSers) is called Grunge-Butt and had a name badge at MagCon a few weeks ago!

I am curious about how one goes about getting these stars and what their benefit is.

Congrats on getting your first (of many) stars!

You GM and the stars are added to you profile and your posts in PFS forums automatically after a required number.

10 Reported Games GMing: 1 Star
30 Reported Games GMing: 2 Stars
60 Reported Games GMing: 3 Stars
100 Reported Games GMing: 4 Stars
150 Reported Games GMing, 10 Specials and Recommendation from a VC/VL: 5 Stars

After your 4th star you get access to a scenario 1 year prior to the regular public.

You get them for GMing a certain number of sanctioned PFS games.

You can earn up to four stars for running (and reporting) a certain number of games, as follows.
• 10 sessions reported as GM = 1 star
• 30 sessions reported as GM = 2 stars
• 60 sessions reported as GM = 3 stars
• 100 sessions reported as GM = 4 stars
You are eligible to obtain a fifth star based on a number of criteria.

The remaining information can be found in the Guide to Organized Play p 40.

As for what they are good for, here is a funny thread about them:

The stars show how many games you have GM'ed. Once you GM ten tables you get your first star, 30 for 2nd, 60 for 3rd, 100 for 4th, and 150 plus other requirements for a 5th star.

Edit: Ninja'ed by a slow connection. :-)
