Silver Sling Bullets

Rules Questions

The Exchange

In society play is there any way to create silver or cold iron bullets for use with a sling?
I have a Bard who uses a sling. I would like to give him some silver and cold iron bullets for use should the situation arise. I dont see them in the rules and I was unable to create my own using Herolab masterwork weapons. is there a provision for silver and cold iron bullets for sling in PFS?
Thanks.

This should help you out...

PRD:
Bullets, Sling: Bullets are shaped metal balls, designed to be used by a sling or halfling sling staff. Bullets come in a leather pouch that holds 10 bullets.

And

PRD:
Iron, Cold: This iron, mined deep underground and known for its effectiveness against demons and fey creatures, is forged at a lower temperature to preserve its delicate properties. Weapons made of cold iron cost twice as much to make as their normal counterparts. Also, adding any magical enhancements to a cold iron weapon increases its price by 2,000 gp. This increase is applied the first time the item is enhanced, not once per ability added.

Items without metal parts cannot be made from cold iron. An arrow could be made of cold iron, but a quarterstaff could not. A double weapon with one cold iron half costs 50% more than normal.

So hopefully that answers your question for you.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

2 silver pieces for 10 cold iron sling bullets.

20 gp and 1 sp for 10 silver sling bullets. Considering you're essentially firing large balls of silver, that seems about right as well.

Weapon blanches should also work. Not sure how they compare on price without my books handy. I know that weapon blanches turned out to be cheaper for arrows for my archer.

Dark Archive

In fact, the best you can do is silver weapon blanch on cold iron bullets. It counts for both in that instance! :)

You can also adamantine blanch some bullets, just in case.

10 Adamantine blanched bullets: 200 go, 1 sp
10 Adamantine bullets: 600 gp, 1 sp

And always have some ghost salted bullets handy.

Great! thank you all for your help.

Liberty's Edge

Seems like it would be a better idea to just melt down silver pieces and shoot the lumps of melted silver at the baddies.
You might take the -1 penalty to hit.. but it'd be a lot cheaper. :)

Using the weapon blanches for silver and adamantine seems to work out cheaper. Use this trick on your arrows too.

If your GM allows it, on your firearm alchemical cartridges too! (Before you assemble them, hopefully)

Too bad it's not allowed in PFS.

Yeah, but you can still use them on the loose firearm bullets, even if you can't blanch cartridges.
